    Abstract: A device for transmitting movement to a fan for cooling the coolant in a motor vehicle has a shaft on which the fan is mounted by means of an idle support, and a first electromagnetic clutch, engagement of which causes rotation of the fan at a speed equal to that of the shaft. A second clutch causes rotation of the fan at a speed lower than that of the shaft or at zero speed. The second clutch has an actuator coaxially displaceable, in both directions, with respect to the shaft, but idle upon rotation of the latter. A coupling which is coaxially locked in rotation with the shaft is connected to the actuator and is suitable for engagement with the rotor of the second clutch.
