摘要: The invention detects the loft time, speed, power and/or drop distance of a vehicle, such as a sporting vehicle, during activities of moving and jumping. A loft sensor detects when the vehicle leaves the ground and when the vehicle returns to the ground. A controller subsystem converts the sensed information to determine a loft time. A display shows the recorded loft time to a user of the system. In addition, a speed sensor can detect the vehicle's speed for selective display to the user. A power sensing section informs the user of expended energy, which can be compared to other users. A drop distance sensing unit informs the user of the peak height of a jump, during an airtime. Gaming on the internet is facilitated to connect worldwide sport enthusiasts.

摘要: Mobile devices are increasingly capable of collecting, storing, and transmitting data which may infringe on the security or privacy of others. The inventions disclosed provide methods by which such conflicts may be reduced by allowing geo-graphical areas to be opted-out of certain types of collection, at all or specific times. These methods may help broaden the acceptance of such devices as Google Glass®, other wearable devices, or other mobile collection-capable devices. The disclosure describes a “collection controller” which maintains positive control over a device's collection capabilities. This controller may be paired with an online opt-out registry or sensor which detects coded opt-out beacons. Certain data collected by the device might be metadata tagged and its further use determined by a “data disposition controller” which ensures restrictions on the collected data are maintained and adhered to. Finally, the device may itself be queried to determine if it is controlled by any or all of the processes disclosed in this submission.

摘要: Flight safety and air vehicle deconfliction are of paramount concern in the operation of manned aircraft. The introduction of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in quickly growing numbers raises the risks of mid-air collisions, near misses, and diversions from intended flight paths. This application discloses a series of linked process whereby such risks may be significantly reduced and may enable the safe integration of UAVs into the national airspaces of the United States and other nations. The disclosed process allows emergency responders and others to declare an emergency air operations zone (perhaps near the expected landing spot of a medivac helicopter) and notify UAV operators in the vicinity of that zone of the emergency and suggested or mandated actions for the UAV operators to take (i.e., land your airframe as soon as possible, do not approach this spot, be alert for emergency aircraft, etc.). The emergency or priority zone would be limited in location and time. The notifications are made to UAV operators either through an application running on a mobile phone or other connected device or by calls, texts, or other alerts to such devices. The process has uses beyond providing priority to emergency services. For example, a city could provide priority airspace to a film crew using UAVs and notify other UAV users to keep clear of a particular area for a limited time.

摘要: Falling costs of imaging technologies, processing, data storage, and networking have led to an explosion in the use of facial recognition technologies previously used almost exclusively by governments at border checkpoints and around other high value and sensitive locations. Increasingly, private companies are using these technologies, usually paired with other technologies and data for commercial purposes. This widespread and growing use of facial recognition has profound implications for personal privacy. While government use of facial recognition technology is generally unrestricted in public places and commercial use is largely unregulated, more stringent controls are likely to be imposed upon uses of facial recognition. The disclosure provides a multifaceted method of administering a system whereby individuals can request or demand (depending on the legal framework) to opt out of facial recognition collection, processing, correlation, storage, and dissemination.

摘要: A variable inlet vane assembly for use within the inlet area of a combustor, the vane assembly having a plurality of rotatable vanes situated within an annular-shaped opening in the inlet area of the combustor. Each vane is operated by the rotation of a crank assembly and actuator. The actuator meshes with the crank assembly through a sliding interface in order to accommodate axial and/or radial growth of the combustor with no loss in the precision of the control of air entering the combustor during rotation of the vanes. Such an arrangement substantially enhances the relight capability of the combustor.

摘要: Laws, regulations, and self-regulatory processes are beginning to restrict how online advertisers and others interact with users. The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA) restricts the interaction of online businesses with children under thirteen.Revised regulations implementing this statute will restrict behavioral advertising by businesses directed to children and by other business if they have actual knowledge they are dealing with a child under thirteen. The current system of ad placement online relies on a real-time, distributed market where participants usually interact at arms-length through intermediaries (usually online advertising networks) in placing ads. There is currently no process by which COPPA regulations or possible future regulatory or self-regulatory frameworks can be imposed on this system requiring abandonment of the system or processes which can work consistent with the system when used on a mobile or personal device. The disclosure provides a method by which the current system can be retained with minor modification by creating, populating, maintaining, and making available in near real time an opt-out registry that links unique persistent identifiers for mobile and personal devices to restrictions, preferences, and permissions related to such devices. The disclosure also described the integrated and complementary technology that needs to be deployed to support the method.
