    Abstract: Systems and methods that may be implemented to employ a programmable integrated circuit within a smart battery pack to detect and/or log occurrence of chassis intrusion and/or tampering events in a battery-powered information handling system within which the smart battery pack is installed. A battery management unit (BMU) or other programmable integrated circuit of the installed smart battery pack may be utilized to detect occurrence of a tampering and/or intrusion event into the chassis of the host information handling system based on a current state of a system present (Sys_Pres) signal at the battery pack that indicates temporary or permanent disconnection of system motherboard circuitry from the smart battery pack of the battery-powered information handling system. Such a detected occurrence of a tampering and/or intrusion event may be reported to a remote human user of remote system and/or to a local human user of the local system.

    Abstract: In one or more embodiments, an information handling system may determine that a housing is in contact with the information handling system that is operating with a first operating profile. For example, the housing may be or include a case or a cover. In response to determining that the housing is in contact with the information handling system, the information handling system may determine a second operating profile of the information handling system that increases a processing speed of at least one processor of the information handling system. In one or more embodiments, the second operating profile may be or include a thermal profile that permits the information handling system to have an increased skin temperature of at least a portion of the information handling system. In one or more embodiments, the information handling system may operate based at least on the second operating profile.

The chassis intrusion operation includes monitoring an information handling system for occurrence of an intrusion event, the monitoring being performed whether the information handling system is in a powered on state or a powered off state; providing information regarding the intrusion event to a chassis intrusion system, the chassis intrusion system identifying a remediation action to perform in response to the intrusion event; and, performing the action on the information handling system, the remediation action remediating the intrusion event.

    Abstract: An information handling system with multiple power input ports, such as USB ports, capable of receiving power from external power supplies may control power received from the power supplies. A first controller may detect a first power supply coupled to a first power input port of the system and may allow power to flow from the external power supply to the system. Any additional power supplies detected by controllers may be blocked from providing power to the system while the first power supply is providing power.
