Abstract: An antenna apparatus includes a dielectric substrate, a ground plate, a patch antenna provided with a patch radiating element, and a plurality of EBGs (Electromagnetic Band Gaps). The EBGs are composed of patch-shaped patterns formed on a surface of the substrate and connecting conductors electrically connecting the patch-shaped patterns and the ground plate. Each EBG is arranged to provide an EBG absent region having no EBG on the surface of the substrate. The patch radiating element is arranged within the EBG absent region. The EBG absent region is formed such that distances (absent distances) in a dominant polarized wave direction changes into a plurality of types depending on the position on a vertical patch line, where the distances range, to the boundary of the region, from an arbitrary position on the virtual patch line which is perpendicular to the dominant polarized wave direction of the patch antenna.

Abstract: An antenna apparatus includes: an antenna that performs either transmission or reception of electromagnetic waves having a predetermined frequency; a case provided with a mounting surface on a predetermined surface, mounting the antenna on the mounting surface; a radome formed of a transmissive material allowing the electromagnetic waves to pass therethrough, mounted on the mounting surface so as to cover the antenna. A groove portion is formed on the mounting surface. The radome has a thickness corresponding to a value of ½ wavelength of the electromagnetic waves propagating therethrough multiplied by m, where m is positive integer number. The groove portion is formed in a direction forming a predetermined angle with respect to a normal direction of an opening surface of the antenna, to have a depth defined as ½ wavelength of the electromagnetic waves propagating in the groove portion multiplied by n, where n is positive integer number.

Abstract: An antenna device includes a dielectric substrate, a ground plate arranged on a first surface of the dielectric substrate, an antenna part arranged on a second surface of the dielectric substrate, and a reflecting part. The reflecting part is arranged around the antenna part and has a plurality of conductor patches each functioning as a reflecting plate. The plurality of conductor patches form a plurality of blocks aligned along a predetermined block arrangement direction. The plurality of blocks are configured such that phases of reflected waves at an operating frequency are different for each of the blocks and phase differences of reflected waves between adjacent blocks are non-uniformly different for each of the adjacent blocks.

Abstract: A surface current suppression filter (1) is a bandstop filter that suppresses propagation of a surface current in a predetermined propagation direction on a dielectric substrate (2). Abstract: An antenna device 1 has a dielectric substrate 2, a patch antenna 5 and electric power absorbing passive elements 21, 24 formed on a surface of the dielectric substrate. Each electric power absorbing passive element 21, 24 is formed between the patch antenna 5 and an edge portion in a polarized wave direction of the dielectric substrate 2. The electric power absorbing passive elements 21, 24 absorb a part of electric power received by the patch antenna 5. Abstract: An antenna device includes a dielectric substrate, a ground plane, an antenna unit, and an additional functional unit. The dielectric substrate includes a plurality of pattern formation layers. The ground plane is formed on a first pattern formation layer included in the plurality of pattern formation layers, and acts as an antenna grounding surface. The antenna unit is formed on a pattern formation layer that is included in the plurality of pattern formation layers and that is different from the first pattern formation layer. The antenna unit includes one or more antenna patterns configured to act as radiation elements. The additional functional unit includes one or more parasitic patterns provided on a propagation path for a surface propagating over the dielectric substrate, and causes the surface wave to generate a radiation wave with polarization different from polarization of a radio wave transmitted and received by the antenna unit.

Abstract: A radar apparatus transmits a radar wave, with a control parameter being set to a desired value, and acquires an initial transmission level from outside the radar apparatus, the initial transmission level being a result of measurement of a transmission level of the radar wave. At the same time, the radar apparatus receives a delayed wave of the radar wave from outside the radar apparatus, and acquires an initial reception level which is a result of measurement of a reception level of the delayed wave. The radar apparatus then sets a target reception level according to a preset target transmission level, and the initial transmission level and the initial reception level acquired. The radar apparatus then repeats update of the control parameter and measurement of the reception level until the reception level coincides with the target reception level.
