    Abstract: A temperature raising controller has a function to raise the temperature of an electrical storage device by controlling a switching operation of an inverter with a power supply switch closed to create a flow of ripple current between the electrical storage device and a capacitor. The controller determines whether an overvoltage condition which will result in overvoltage at the capacitor is met during execution of a temperature-raising control task for the device. When the overvoltage condition is determined to be met, the controller performs a condition control mode which opens one of a first combination of upper arm switches of the inverter and a second combination of lower arm switches and closes at least one of the upper or lower arm switches in the other of the first and second combinations with the power supply switch closed to circulate electrical current between the inverter and a rotating electrical machine.

    Abstract: A power conversion apparatus includes a power converter configured to convert DC power supplied from a battery into AC power by switching control, and is configured to supply the AC power from the power converter to a rotary electric machine having windings. Further, the power conversion apparatus includes a control unit that performs temperature-increase control of the battery by performing switching control of upper arm switches and lower arm switches so that a current flows to the battery via the power converter and the windings. In the temperature-increase control while the vehicle is stopped, the control unit controls the current so that a current value of the rotary electric machine gradually increases within a current control range in which a torque of the rotary electric machine is less than an upper limit torque.

    Abstract: A power converter includes a high-potential electrical path, a low-potential electrical path, an inverter, a motor, an inter-storage switch, a bypass switch, and a motor-side electrical path. The inverter has an upper-arm switch and a lower-arm switch. The motor has an armature winding electrically connected to a connection point between the upper-arm and the lower-arm switches via a conductive member. The inter-storage switch is located at an inter-storage electrical path that electrically connects a negative terminal of a first power storage unit to a negative terminal of a second power storage unit. The bypass switch establishes at least one of an electrical connection between the negative terminals of the first and second power storage units or the positive terminals of the first and second power storage units. The motor-side electrical path electrically connects the inter-storage electrical path to either the armature winding or the conductive member.

    Abstract: A power converter has a capacitor and a power conversion unit having a series-connected unit composed of an upper arm side switching element and a lower arm side switching element. The capacitor is connected in parallel with the serios connection unit. The power conversion unit supplies electric power to a motor. A controller for the power conversion unit has a frequency characteristics estimation part estimating frequency characteristics of a battery current of the battery when a current is flowing between the power convertor and the battery, a ripple current setting part determining a ripple frequency of a ripple current contained in the battery current based on the frequency characteristics of the battery current, and a control part performing a switching control of the switching elements based on the ripple frequency in order to generate the ripple current.
