Abstract:
A process for preparing silicate shell microcapsules comprises adding a water reactive silicon compound to an oil in water emulsion, thereby condensing and polymerizing the water reactive silicon compound to form silicate shell microcapsules having a core comprising the oil phase of the said emulsion. The water reactive silicon compound comprises a tetraalkoxysilane and an alkoxysilane having an amino or quaternary ammonium substituted alkyl group.
Abstract:
A silicone-polyester composition and a process of forming a silicone-polyester composition are provided. The silicone part of the silicone-polyester composition contains Tph and Q units and is free of D units. A polyester precursor and a silicone precursor are mixed and reacted together so as to form a silicone-polyester composition wherein the silicone part contains Tph, Q units and optionally TMe units. The silicone-polyester composition can be used to form a coating on a substrate, and the substrate is made of aluminum, stainless steel, iron, plastics or glass.
Abstract:
A moisture-curable silicone adhesive composition is provided that comprises (A) a reactive resin, (B) a reactive polymer, (C) a moisture cure catalyst, and (D) a crosslinker resin. The reactive resin (A) comprises the reaction product of a reaction of an alkenyl-functional siloxane resin comprising R3SiO1/2 units and SiO4/2 units and an alkoxysilane-functional organosiloxane compound having at least one silicon-bonded hydrogen atom in the presence of a hydrosilylation catalyst. The reactive polymer (B) comprises the reaction product of a reaction of an alkoxysilane-functional organosiloxane compound having at least one silicon-bonded hydrogen atom and a polyorganosiloxane having an average, per molecule, of at least 2 aliphatically unsaturated organic groups in the presence of a hydrosilylation catalyst.
