Abstract:
A run-flat support ring, which is a component mounted upon a rim inside a tire to extend the distance the tire may travel at reduced or zero inflation pressure, is provided having an integrated shelf design that enhances the handling characteristics of the support ring under run-flat conditions and may also lower the overall mass of the support ring in certain applications. In addition, the support ring has one or more features that improve the process of mounting the support ring onto a rim and better tolerate variations, within manufacturing tolerances, in the respective diameters of the rim and the support ring.
Abstract:
A run-flat support ring, which is a component mounted upon a rim inside a tire to extend the distance the tire may travel at reduced or zero inflation pressure, is provided having an internal fin design that improves the rolling resistance of the support ring without sacrificing the overall load bearing and handling characteristics. Certain embodiments may also include one or more features that improve the process of mounting the support ring onto a rim and better tolerate variations, within manufacturing tolerances, in the respective diameters of the rim and the support ring.
Abstract:
A system for testing a wireless access device having a plurality of radio modules is provided. The system includes a housing having an interior chamber. The interior chamber is adapted to receive a wireless access device. A plurality of probes are positioned for respective alignment with an antenna of a corresponding radio module of the wireless access device. The plurality of probes are adapted to receive radio signals from the wireless access device.
Abstract:
Methods of treatment using Fzd8 extracellular domains (ECDs), Fzd8 ECD fusion molecules, and/or antibodies that bind Fzd8 are provided. Such methods include, but are not limited to, methods of treating obesity and obesity-related conditions. Fzd8 ECDs and Fzd8 ECD fusion molecules are also provided. Polypeptide and polynucleotide sequences, vectors, host cells, and compositions comprising or encoding such molecules are provided. Methods of making and using Fzd8 ECDs, Fzd8 ECD fusion molecules, and antibodies that bind Fzd8 are also provided.
Abstract:
An anti-fuse memory cell having a variable thickness gate oxide. The variable thickness gate oxide has a thick gate oxide portion and a thin gate oxide portion, where the thing gate oxide portion has at least one dimension less than a minimum feature size of a process technology. The thin gate oxide can be rectangular in shape or triangular in shape. The anti-fuse transistor can be used in a two-transistor memory cell having an access transistor with a gate oxide substantially identical in thickness to the thick gate oxide of the variable thickness gate oxide of the anti-fuse transistor.
Abstract:
A method is provided involving the growth of carbon nanotubes to provide giant resistance anisotropy or a low-k dielectric. The method comprises growing a plurality of one-dimensional nanostructures (18) orthogonal to a first conductive layer (14). A dielectric material (22, 32, 60) is formed covering the plurality of one-dimensional nanostructures and then etched to remove a portion of the dielectric material (22, 32, 60) to expose the ends (24, 34, 68) of the one-dimensional nanostructures (18). A second conductive layer (26, 36, 84) is formed over the dielectric material (22, 32, 60) to make contact with the ends (24, 34, 68) of the one-dimensional nanostructures (18). One or both of the first (14) and second (26, 36, 84) layers may be patterned for accessing individual or groups of the one-dimensional nanostructures (18). In another exemplary embodiment, the one-dimensional nanostructures (18) may be removed prior to forming the second layer (84), thereby creating a high-k dielectric layer (32) between the first and second layers (14, 84).
Abstract:
A foldable shoe having a sole comprises a forward sole portion extending from a front toe part of the shoe to an in-step part, a rear sole portion extending from a rear most part of the shoe to said in-step, said forward sole portion and said rearward sole portion co-operating to form a substantially continuous sole when the shoe is worn by a user; and said forward sole portion and said rearward sole portion being separable from each other when the sole is in a folded condition.
Abstract:
A high speed sensing scheme for a non-volatile memory array is disclosed. The memory array includes non volatile memory cells arranged in a complementary bitline configuration includes precharge circuits for precharging the bitlines to a first voltage level such as VSS, a reference circuits for applying a reference charge on the reference bitlines of the complementary bitline pairs, and bitline sense amplifiers for sensing a voltage differential between the complementary bitline pairs. A voltage on the data bitline being changed when a programmed non-volatile memory cell connected to an activated wordline couples the wordline voltage to the data bitline.
Abstract:
A system and method for permitting a sender to provide electronic mail (email) to a recipient, said method comprising providing a recipient email address to the sender; requesting of the recipient that the sender be allowed to send email to the recipient; determining whether the request is acceptable based on at least one of: 1) a sender identity verification method; 2) user input; and 3) third party information; adding the sender to an email access list if the request is acceptable; and wherein the email access is used to determine whether or not email from the sender is permitted to reach the recipient.
Abstract:
A system for transacting business with customers is disclosed. The system includes a dispatch division receiving a complaint from a customer related to a problem the customer is experiencing. The dispatch division then deploys a technician to repair the problem. While the technician is conducting the repair, the system permits the technician to interact with the customer and negotiate and close deals for additional or modified products, services or features that the customer may want. The system also includes provisions for allowing the technician to retrieve information related to the customer and includes features that automatically notify various appropriate business offices for follow-up with the customer.
