    摘要: A cache coherency protocol for a multi-processor system which provides for read/write, read-only and transitional data states and for an indication of these states to be stored in a memory directory in main memory. The transitional data state occurs when a processor requests from main memory a data block in another processor's cache and the request is pending completion. All subsequent read requests for the data block during the pendency of the first request are inhibited until completion of the first request. Also provided in the memory directory for each data block is a field for identifying the processor which owns the data block in question. Data block ownership information is used to determine where requested owned data is located.

    摘要: A non-load bearing, structural stud which has been positioned in a track, may be stabilized in that position in the track by a method of simultaneously making an incision in one wall of the track adjacent both corners of the stud which abut the wall, and curling that portion of the sidewall which lies between the individual incisions and the structural stud, toward the stud and into securing contact therewith. The stud stabilizing apparatus comprises a pair of knife edge means, rigidly held by a center post in parallel, spaced relationship.

    摘要: A system for cleaning up an oil spill and recovering the spilled oil includes frames supporting superhydrophobic oil-absorbing nanowires. A first container supports the frames with the nanowires. A mixture of oil and water is pumped into the first container where the oil from the mixture is absorbed by the nanowires as water is separated from the mixture and deposited in the first container where it is then pumped therefrom. A second container supports the frames with the oil so-absorbed by the nanowires. The frames with the oil so-absorbed by the nanowires are heated whereby the oil so-absorbed separates from the nanowires and is deposited in the second container. The oil so-deposited in the second container is then pumped therefrom.

    摘要: A pattern generator for supplying beam deflection and blanking signals in an electron beam lithography system which writes polygon pattern features by sweeping a beam of rectangular cross-section over each polygon and simultaneously varying the length of the rectangular cross-section. The pattern generator converts polygon size and shape data to an upper shape signal and a lower shape signal. The shaping signals are subtracted to provide a beam length signal. The lower shape signal controls the beam position during writing of the polygon. The pattern generator further includes a ramp generator for sweeping the beam over the polygon. The ramp signal and shaping signals are synchronized by detecting the points in the sweep at which polygon turn points occur. The shape signal generators utilize interleaved operation for high speed. A blanking circuit provides uniform exposure of pattern features by controlling the width of the rectangular beam. The beam is ramped on and off at a rate which matches the rate of the sweep signal.
