摘要: A method and apparatus for staging envelopes in a mail insertion machine. In the mail insertion machine, envelopes are moved into an envelope inserting area one at a time with the flap of the envelopes trailing the envelope bottom edge and flipped away so as to allow enclosure material to be inserted into the envelope. While one envelope is paused in the envelope inserting area for receiving enclosure material, the next envelope is moved towards the envelope inserting area such that the flap of the paused envelope in the envelope inserting area is partially overlapped with the next envelope in a shingling fashion. In order to properly separate these envelopes, a sensing device is used to sense the arrival of the bottom edge of the next envelope in order to control the further movement of the next envelope.

摘要: A method and apparatus for feeding envelopes in an envelope insertion machine, wherein a rotatable pneumatic feeding head is used to pick up an envelope from an envelope stack by a negative air pressure. The pneumatic feeding head is also used to move the envelope to a pair of take away rollers so that the envelope picked up by the feeding head can be moved further away from the envelope stack. It is preferred that the feeding head includes an outer cylinder having a row of vacuum ports and an inner cylinder having a plurality of apertures for air passage operatively connected to a vacuum pump. The inner cylinder is independently rotatable relative to the outer cylinder so that the negative air pressure is provided to the vacuum ports when the apertures of the inner cylinder are aligned with the vacuum ports, and the negative air pressure is turned off from the vacuum parts when the apertures and the vacuum ports are out of alignment.

摘要: An accumulator device with a downward angled input transport. Downstream, an accumulating receptacle receives sheets. The accumulating receptacle has an upper guide and a lower guide forming a horizontal accumulating channel. Dump rollers act as a stop during sheet accumulation, and as a transport for removing completed accumulations from the sheet accumulating device. A rear portion of sheets buckle downward into a trap arrangement below the input rollers. Preferably, the upper guide of the accumulating channel comprises a continuously rotating belt to urge accumulating sheets against the dump rollers. Also, a positive air device may be used to assist in the buckling of the rear portion of the sheets. To assist in handling large collations, when a sheet arrives at the dump rollers the advance by a small predetermined incremental displacement slightly shingling the sheets to maintain positive control for later reliable discharge.

摘要: Evaluating fraud risk in a transaction between consumer and a merchant over a network is disclosed. The merchant requests service over the network using a secure, open messaging protocol. An e-commerce transaction or electronic purchase order is received from the merchant, the level of risk associated with each order is measured, and a risk score is returned to the merchant. In one embodiment, data validation, highly predictive artificial intelligence pattern matching, network data aggregation and negative file checks are used to examine numerous factors to calculate fraud risk. A risk score is generated and compared to the merchant's specified risk threshold. The result is returned to the merchant for order disposition.

摘要: Transaction information is received and applied to multiple fraud risk mathematical models that each produce a respective raw score, which are transformed with respective sigmoidal transform functions to produce optimized likelihood of fraud risk estimates to provide to a merchant. Respective fraud risk estimates are combined using fusion proportions associated with the respective risk estimates, producing a single point risk estimate, which is transformed with a sigmoidal function to produce an optimized single point risk estimate. The sigmoidal functions approximate a relationship between risk estimates produced by fraud risk detection models and a percentage of transactions associated with respective risk estimates; the relationship is represented in terms of real-world distributions of fraudulent and non-fraudulent transaction.

摘要: A system includes a visualization manager for assembling the group of data elements and for assigning a connection visual element in the visual representation between a first visual element representing a first data element of the group and a second visual element representing a second data element of the group. The system also has a spatial visualization component configured for generating a spatial domain of the visual representation to include a reference surface for providing a spatial reference frame having at least two spatial dimensions. The reference surface is for relating the first visual element to a first location of interest in the spatial reference frame and for relating the second visual element to a second location of interest in the spatial reference frame. The system also has a temporal visualization component configured for generating a temporal domain of the visual representation operatively coupled to the spatial domain, the temporal domain for providing a common temporal reference frame for the locations of interest. The temporal domain includes a first time track, such as a timeline, coupled to the first location of interest and a second time track coupled to the second location of interest, such that the first visual element is positioned on the first time track and the second visual element is positioned on the second time track. Each of the time tracks are configured for visually representing a respective temporal sequence of a plurality of the data elements at each of the locations of interest of the reference surface.
