摘要: The present invention relates to a novel method for the preparation of a pooled or mixed population of cryopreserved cells (e.g. hepatocytes). In particular, the invention entails the rapid thaw of cells (e.g. hepatocytes), donated from a single individual, which are mixed to create a heterogeneous population and then cryopreserved. The invention also concerns preparations of multi-cryopreserved cells to increase viability prior to immediate use. The process entails reducing exposure to chemical and physical stresses to increase the resultant number of viable cells.

摘要: A method for processing imagery includes receiving data for a first image associated with a first spectral band and second images associated with second spectral bands. The method also includes obtaining first reflectance functions for pixels in the second images, generating a second reflectance function for pixels in the first image based on the first reflectance functions, and obtaining a third reflectance function for pixels in the first image based on the second reflectance function, the imagery data for the first image, and at least one facet orientation constraint. The method further includes modifying the first reflectance functions to generate fourth reflectance functions for pixels in the second images based on a difference between the second and the third reflectance functions, and computing imagery data defining third images associated with the second spectral bands and having the first spatial resolution based on the fourth reflectance functions.

摘要: An integrated circuit for analyzing the waveform of an input signal includes a first storage circuit and a second storage circuit that are each supplied with the input signal. The first and second storage circuits are controlled by a clock signal. The first storage circuit is used to store a state for the input signal when the clock signal has a rising edge. The second storage circuit is used to store a state for the input signal when the clock signal has a falling edge. An evaluation circuit compares the states of the input signal that are stored in the first and second storage circuits during a selected time span. The comparison can be used to decide whether the input signal assumes periodic fluctuations or an approximately permanently static value during the time span.

摘要: A decontamination pad includes an adsorptive/absorptive knitted activated-carbon layer exposed on a first surface, an activated-carbon fabric attached to the other surface of the knitted layer and backed up an impermeable layer. The activated carbon is saturated with a non-hazardous CWA decontamination solvent as nonspecific means of decontaminating equipment and open-wounds is provided. The pad is packaged in a sealed, disposable plastic packet. The pad is thus a simple and immediate means of personal decontamination by applying the exposed surface of the knitted layer to the surface to be decontaminated.

摘要: An integrated semiconductor memory having memory cells (MC) for storing data signals (DQ), has a memory sense amplifier (2) with an input (21) for a data signal (DQ) of one of the memory cells (MC), and an output (23) for at least one output signal (RD0). A driver circuit (3) is connected to the output (23) of the memory sense amplifier (2). The driver circuit (3) can be activated or deactivated only by the output signal (RD0) of the memory sense amplifier (2). A signal line (4) is connected to the driver circuit (3), a precharging circuit (5) and to a memory circuit (6). A terminal (7) for a control signal (C) is connected to the memory sense amplifier (2), the precharging circuit (5) and the memory circuit (6). As result of a driver circuit (3) which has a relatively low level of circuit complexity, the space requirements are kept relatively small. In addition, high switching speeds are made possible during the reading operation.

摘要: The invention provides dry cleaning liquid formulations and methods for their use based on a highly fluorinated organic solvent which contains at least one hydrogen atom per molecule, in particular, highly fluorinated hydrocarbons or highly fluorinated ethers. In a preferred embodiment the cleaning liquid contains an HFC or HFE in combination with dichloroethylene. The addition of a surfactant enhances the ability of the liquid to remove water-soluble soils.

摘要: A liftable cover assembly for the bed of a truck having sidewalls and a tail gate. The cover assembly comprises a rigid cover panel sized to encompass the entire truck bed, plural support legs for the cover panel, a height establishing mechanism, and a locking mechanism. The support legs comprise a pair of generally U-shaped members pivotally mounted on the sidewalls and pivotally connected to the cover panel to enable the cover panel to be lifted from a lower or closed position, wherein it is horizontally disposed over the bed on the sidewalls and the tailgate, to a raised or open position, wherein it is disposed and held horizontally a predetermined distance above the sidewalls. The height establishing mechanism is adjustable to establish various predetermined distances that the cover may be disposed over the truck bed in the open position. The locking mechanism includes an actuatable handle and plural associated latches for locking the cover panel in the closed position. Plural gas-operated dash-pots are provided for assisting the lifting of the cover panel to the open position. The U-shaped members making up the support legs are releasably secured to the sidewalls of the truck to enable the cover panel and the U-shaped members to be removed as a unit from the truck bed, if desired. A tent-like curtain is provided for releasable suspension by the cover panel when it is in the open position to provide an enclosure for the truck bed.

摘要: In one embodiment, contaminates are removed from a material by contacting an activated carbon fabric wetted with a solvent with the surface of the material. The activated carbon fabric is maintained in contact with the surface in a substantially vapor-tight environment to allow the solvent to dissolve the contaminants, the contaminates to diffuse in the solvent, and the contaminates to be adsorbed by the activated carbon fabric. Thereafter, the activated carbon fabric containing the contaminates is removed and the any remaining solvent is allowed to evaporate. In another embodiment, contaminates are removed from a material by maintaining a solvent wetted fabric in contact with the surface of a material, while exposing at least an upper face of the fabric to a surrounding environment to promote evaporation of the solvent. The evaporation of the solvent from the upper face migrates contaminates from the surface into the fabric where they are contained.
