摘要: A integral vascular filter system comprising a guidewire and an integral filter which can be used to capture embolic particulates during medical procedures, while allowing for continuous perfusion of blood, with minimal incremental blood flow turbulence. The vascular filter system addresses the clinical problem of minimizing profile or diameter, so as to enable or facilitate the crossing of a lesion or obstruction in the vessel, while also minimizing incremental blood flow turbulence which may result in thrombus formation.

摘要: In accordance with the present invention there is provided a delivery apparatus for a self-expanding stent. The apparatus includes an outer sheath, which is an elongated tubular member having distal and proximal ends. The outer sheath is made from an outer polymeric layer, an inner polymeric layer, and a braided reinforcing layer between the inner and outer layers. The reinforcing layer is more rigid than the inner and outer layers. The apparatus further includes an inner shaft located coaxially within the outer sheath. The shaft has a distal end, extending distal to the distal end of the sheath, and a proximal end, extending proximal to the proximal end of the sheath. The shaft further includes a stop attached thereto. The stop is proximal to the distal end of the sheath. Lastly, the apparatus includes a self-expanding stent located within the sheath. The stent makes frictional contact with the inner layer of the sheath. The stent is located between the stop and the distal end of the sheath, with a portion of the shaft disposed coaxially within a lumen of the stent. The stent makes contact with the stop during deployment of the stent.

The first portion of the text further is associated with a first hyperlink. The at least one software component is further executable by the at least one processor to compare a second portion of the text to at least one character string that is stored in the database to identify the second portion of the text as included in both the webpage and the database. The second portion of the text is further associated with a second hyperlink. The at least one software component to further communicate the plurality of hyperlinks to the website, the plurality of hyperlinks includes at least the first and the second hyperlinks.

摘要: An optically immersed infra-red detector assembly comprises a planar sapphire substrate bearing a detector with radially disposed lens contact pads. The detector and contact pads are produced by etching a single portion of cadmium mercury telluride and have mutually coplanar surfaces. A hemispherical silicon optical immersion lens is bonded to the pads by applying dilute adhesive to lens-pad interfaces. Capillary attraction draws the adhesive between the lens and the pads to form very thin layers of adhesive after solvent evaporation. The adhesive layers ensure that an air gap is produced between the lens and detector, the gap being much smaller than the infra-red wavelength of interest as required to ensure optical immersion of the detector by the lens.

摘要: It is an object of the invention to provide a unit for discharging material, such as lengths of paper strip from an air stream. As shown in FIG. 1, a flow of air with suspended waste material enters, as illustrated by the arrow 1, along a duct 2. The flow is into an entry section 4 of a perforated duct 5 located within an outer casing 6 which forms an air duct. At the downstream end, the duct 5 leads into a bend section 7 which is perforated on the outside of the bend and at the sides. The flow of air or gas continues out of the open end 8 of the casing 6 as indicated by the arrow 9, while the suspended solid material is deflected by the bend section into a discharge duct 11, down which the solid material falls by gravity. The duct 11 is shown as including two pairs of optional isolating flap valves 12 so as to provide an air lock arrangement so that the air flow in the duct 11 is substantially zero.
