    摘要: A solar panel for a spacecraft has a base with a face, and at least one row of solar cells and at least one elongated reflector are mounted on the face of said base. The reflectors and the rows are mounted generally parallel to each other in an alternating fashion. The reflector has a first and a second reflecting side when the reflector is in a deployed position. The reflector is mounted so that the first side of the reflector is adjacent to a row of solar cells and reflects radiation incident on the first side onto the adjacent row of solar cells when said reflector is in a deployed position. Preferably, a plurality of rows and a plurality of reflectors are mounted on the face of the base, with at least one of the reflectors being disposed between two adjacent rows of solar cells.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a surface effect craft comprising a supporting deck structure having two pontoons mounted thereto in catamaran like fashion. A propulsion mechanism is mounted to a rear portion of the deck structure. A lift control member is disposed under the deck structure between the two pontoons. The lift control member is pivotally movable mounted to the front portion of the deck structure. A lift adjust mechanism pivotally moves the lift control member between a first position with the rear end of the lift control member being in close proximity to the surface and a second position with the rear end of the lift control member being in close proximity to the deck structure. Employment of the lift control member enables the craft to achieve surface effect at low speed and, furthermore, allows control of the aerodynamic lift in a wide range from maximum lift to negative lift. This substantially widens the range of surface conditions and speed the craft is operable, such as uneven ground, choppy water surfaces, snow, and ice.

    摘要: A system for measuring nip width for a nip present between two rolls includes: (a) a sensor assembly, said sensor assembly including: 1) a first strip formed of a first electrically conductive material having a resistance, the first strip having a first end and a second end and a first measuring zone between the first and second ends; 2) a second strip disposed adjacent the first strip and formed of a second electrically conductive material, the second strip having a second measuring zone disposed adjacent and substantially coextensive with said first measuring zone; 3) a gap defined between the first and second strips and electrically isolating the first and second strips from one another; and 4) wherein at least one of the first and second strips is deformable such that, when the device is placed in the press nip, pressure from the nip rolls forces portions of the first and second measuring zones into electrically conductive contact with one another over a contact length, the contact length corresponding to the nip width. The system further comprises: (b) a resistance-measuring unit that measures an electrical resistance; (c) first and second leads, the first lead being connected to the first strip adjacent the first end, the second lead being connected to the second strip; and (d) a controller operatively associated with the resistance-measuring unit, the controller including computer readable program code, the code including a plurality of data sets, each of the data sets representing a relationship between resistance of a sensor and environmental temperature.

The individual segments include a header containing at least a set presence bit and a target address, a payload containing at least segment data and a copy of the target address, and a parity bit designating parity of the payload, the logic arranging the segment plurality into a multiple-dimensional matrix. A logic analyzes segment data in a plurality of dimensions following passage of the data through a plurality of switches including analysis to detect segment error, column error, and payload error.

    摘要: Methods, systems, and devices are provided for managing resources in a computing cluster. The managed resources include cluster nodes themselves, as well as sharable resources such as memory buffers and bandwidth credits that may be used by one or more nodes. Resource management includes detecting failures and possible failures by node software, node hardware, interconnects, and system area network switches and taking steps to compensate for failures and prevent problems such as uncoordinated access to a shared disk. Resource management also includes reallocating sharable resources in response to node failure, demands by application programs, or other events. Specific examples provided include failure detection by remote memory probes, emergency communication through a shared disk, and sharable resource allocation with minimal locking.
