摘要: Various embodiments enable a device to create a pool of at least one empty application. An empty application can be configured to contain resources that are common across one or more other applications and initialize the resources for the one or more other applications effective to reduce startup time of the other applications. In one or more embodiments, an empty application can further be populated with the one or more other applications effective to cause the one or more other applications to execute. Alternately or additionally, a device can be monitored for an idle state, and, upon determining the device is in the idle state, at least one empty application can be created.

摘要: System and methods for processing price data for health services are provided. In one embodiment, the system includes a data storage device configured to store a database comprising one or more records. The system may also include a server in data communication with the data storage device. The server may be suitably programmed to search the database to obtain a group of records of prices for a health service received by a group of subjects, wherein the health service is comprised in a service category; extract a representative price for the health service; determine a weight for the health service relative to the service category; and generate, using a processor, a weighted price for the health service based on the weight and the representative price.

摘要: A system, method, and tangible computer program product for analysis of condition, cost, and duration are presented. In one embodiment, the system includes an interface and a processor. The interface may receive or obtain one or more attributes associated with a subject having a condition. The processor may search a database for a group of records associated with the attributes, wherein the records comprise cost and duration information associated with the condition, estimate cost and duration in response to the cost and duration information, and generate an output in response to the cost estimate and duration estimate.

摘要: An apparatus, system, and method for rapid cohort analysis. In one embodiment, the apparatus includes an interface and a processor. The interface may receive an identifier of a first index attribute. The processor may search the database for a first group of records associated with the first index attribute, search the database for a second group of records, each record in the second group of records sharing a common second index attribute with a record in the first group of records, but not associated with the first index attribute, and calculate a statistic in response to information associated with the first group of records and the second group of records.

摘要: Described are a method and apparatus for incorporating broadcast television into Web pages. Broadcast television can be embedded into Web pages using, for example, a “tv:” attribute in conjunction with common HTML tags. Within the “tv:” attribute, a Web-page author can reference a TV station by channel number, network, or broadcast call letters. HTML documents are parsed to recover both the conventional-tags and tags that include TV attributes. The resulting Web pages display the identified broadcast TV in a frame specified by the TV attribute. One embodiment supports the presentation of television in the background of an HTML document. In that embodiment, HTML tags corresponding to overlying HTML content are provided with an attribute that defines a level of transparency from zero to one-hundred percent. The transparency attribute allows content providers to overlay any type of HTML information over a broadcast television show without completely obscuring the underlying show. This aspect of the invention employs a z attribute that can be used to specify the relative position of broadcast television and overlying HTML content.

摘要: The invention frees up memory to other uses by allocating memory to video graphics buffering only to the extent required. It also saves graphic processor bandwidth by processing, e.g. blending, only to the extent required. It does so by defining a regular grid of so-called tiles or cells in the overlay graphic data window, e.g orthogonally arrayed squares of 32-pixel sides, and allocating memory only to those requiring update, i.e. only those that are visible and subject to change between successive frames. Allocation is dynamic and requires little tagging overhead to keep track of the tiles in memory by location in the video graphic window. Processing is only of those tiles for which memory is allocated, since entirely transparent tiles within the window require no blending or processing whatsoever because they are invisible. In one implementation, only onscreen buffered graphics are tiled and the offscreen buffered graphics require full-sized memory allocation and in another offscreen buffered graphics are tiled also by clipping within variously sized buffers during successive passes through a drawing operation wherein the various sized buffers all are smaller than the entire window. New offscreen buffer-processed tiles may be swapped as they are processed for existing (visible) onscreen tiles directly, when there is less available memory, or new tiles may be processed and block-stored in memory until a wholesale swap can occur invisibly, when there is more memory available.

摘要: A method and apparatus for a menu based system containing size and location information is disclosed. Each menu contains a list of menu items containing a command and variables that reflect the command's current appearance. This includes status information determinative of the menu item's state (enabled/disabled), its name, its associated graphic, and whether its appearance is currently valid. Each of these were initialized when the menu item was created. The invention creates a menu item from a command, where a menu item is another object data structure containing a command sequence. The menu item is added to a list of menu items, and initialized as an invalid appearance. Later when the menu item is selected from a pull down menu, the appearance state is recomputed based on the system state.
