    摘要: A liquid atomizer is constructed with a hollow shell-like top cover and a unitary molded main support which snaps into place inside the top cover and divides it into upper and lower regions. The main support includes formations for mounting, on its upper side, a printed circuit board assembly including an electrical oscillator, as well as a piezoelectric actuator and orifice plate pump assembly. The main support also includes formations for removably mounting, on its lower side, a battery and a liquid reservoir. An openable bottom cover closes the bottom of the device and allows access to the battery and to the liquid reservoir for replacement of these elements.

    摘要: A pump (10) includes a motor (11) which rotates a pumping assembly (52) which includes a face plate (54) and a cylinder (56). A piston (67) reciprocates in the cylinder (56) to draw fluid into the cylinder (56) from an intake groove (78) and an intake port (76) formed in a manifold plate (73) positioned adjacent to the face plate (54), and to thereafter discharge that fluid to a discharge groove (80) and a discharge port (77) formed in the manifold plate (73). The piston (67) rides on a swash plate (49) as the face plate (54) rotates, and the extent of reciprocation of the piston (67) and therefore the amount of fluid to be dispersed on each reciprocation of the piston (67) is controlled by an adjuster wheel (40) which can be moved to allow the swash plate (49) to pivot a predetermined extent. As such, the pump (10) can dispense a known precise amount of fluid on each reciprocation of the piston (67).

    摘要: An improved surgical instrument is provided for applying surgical fasteners, such as staples, to human tissue which is particularly suited for applying one or more rows of fasteners across a tissue lumen. The surgical instrument can be used in thoracic and abdominal surgical procedures where access to the surgical site is restricted. The surgical instrument includes an articulated fastener applying assembly mounted on a rotatable and flexible support shaft assembly to provide more convenient access to restricted surgical sites. The fastener applying assembly has a compact construction including a fixed jaw which supports a fastener cartridge and a movable jaw which supports an anvil for clamping the tissue therebetween. The fastener applying assembly includes a pin placement mechanism which is actuated by the movable jaw to control the movement of a tissue retaining pin on the fixed jaw. A dual cam mechanism is provided for driving the fasteners into the tissue clamped between the anvil and the fastener cartridge. The instrument has an actuator handle assembly with an improved actuator mechanism for closing the jaws and driving the fasteners into the tissue.

Each handle further includes upper and lower elongate surfaces that are oriented at an angle to the central horizontal axis so that a substantial length portion thereof extends away from its corresponding wheel side surface and downward toward the ground surface with the wheel at rest or rotating thereon.

    摘要: A food chiller including an enclosed container supported on a base receives a flow of cooling air from a Peltier effect thermoelectric module in the base through cool air inlet openings into the container. Air is returned from the container to the base by a fan mounted in the air duct system in communication with the cold sink of the thermoelectric device. In each of the disclosed embodiments, duct length is minimized and air flow into the container is optimized by air hole placement and orientation.
