    摘要: A circuit and method for capacitor effective series resistance measurement. One embodiment provides a method for measuring the effective series resistance of a capacitor having a capacitor voltage. The method includes amplifying the capacitor voltage with an AC coupled amplifier yielding a first amplified signal. The capacitor is discharged with a constant current for a measurement time thus causing a voltage swing of the capacitor voltage due to a voltage drop across the effective series resistance. The capacitor voltage is amplified with the AC coupled amplifier yielding a second amplified signal being dependent on the voltage swing. The effective series resistance is calculated from the first and the second amplified signals.

One embodiment provides a method for measuring the effective series resistance of a capacitor having a capacitor voltage. The method includes amplifying the capacitor voltage with an AC coupled amplifier yielding a first amplified signal. The input terminals are configured to receive an input DC voltage and the output terminals configured to provide an output DC voltage. The step-up conversion circuitry is coupled between the input terminals and the output terminals and includes a switching element. The first feedback path has a regulator arrangement configured to provide a regulating signal which is dependent on the output voltage. The drive circuit is configured to provide a pulse-width-modulated drive signal for the switching element and is supplied with the regulating signal, wherein the drive circuit is configured to generate the drive signal in a manner that corresponds to the input voltage.

    摘要: In accordance with an embodiment, a method of testing a power supply controller includes detecting whether an external switch is coupled between a first supply pin and the second supply pin. If the external switch is detected, the method determines whether there is a short circuit between the second supply pin and the switching output pin. If the short circuit between the second supply pin and the switching output pin is not detected, however, the method determines whether there is a short circuit between a switch control pin and the second supply pin. If the short circuit between the switch control pin and the second supply pin is not detected, the method determines whether there is a conductive path between the first supply pin and the second supply pin when the switch control pin activates the external switch.

    摘要: An embodiment of the invention relates to a switch-mode power converter including an inductor and an external rectifying diode. A series arrangement of a resistor and a switch are coupled in parallel with the external rectifying diode. The resistor and the switch enable continuous conduction mode, even at substantially no output current. A comparator senses a current level in the resistor. When the current level crosses a threshold level, the power converter is shut down. The current level is sensed with a second resistor coupled to a current source to produce a current sensing arrangement dependent on a ratio of resistances. Advantageously, the current level is sensed with clamp circuits coupled to the comparator, each clamp circuit including a series circuit arrangement of a field-effect transistor with a gate coupled to a voltage source.

    摘要: The invention is directed to an amplifier circuit based on the principle of a class D amplifier. To avoid unwanted convolution effects and to improve the power supply rejection ratio, provision is made for the amplitude of the ramp signal used for pulse width modulation to track proportionally the supply voltage for the amplifier circuit. For this purpose, the ramp signal generator has an amplitude control input suitably connected to supply and reference potentials. This ensures a constant duty ratio which is independent of the supply voltage. The present circuit may be used, for example, as a DC/DC converter or as an audio amplifier.
