Abstract:
A point-of-sale (POS) system is provided. The POS system may include an adjustable housing configured to receive a computing device. The POS system housing may be adjustable so that a screen of the computing device can be viewed by a merchant and a customer. The computing device may be removable from the housing for use as a mobile POS system. The POS system may also include electronics for accepting various forms of payment and for connecting the computing device to a network.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for providing merchant/customer interaction include determining that a tablet computer is in a merchant orientation, retrieving merchant product information according to a received instruction and merchant orientation information, and displaying a merchant screen on the tablet computer that includes the merchant product information according to the merchant orientation information. A change in the orientation of the tablet computer enclosure/stand is then detected from the merchant orientation to a customer orientation. In response, the merchant screen is transitioned on the tablet computer display to a customer screen as the tablet computer enclosure/stand changes orientations by moving the merchant screen and the customer screen linearly while in a stacked orientation. The customer screen includes the merchant product information displayed according to customer orientation information such that the merchant product information is displayed differently on the customer screen relative to the merchant screen.

Abstract:
A system and/or method may be provided to enable a server to monitor a plurality of wireless beacons that are deployed by a merchant in a location, such as a merchant store, a car dealership, a vehicle, a hotel, a casino, a theme park, etc. More specifically, provided are methods to enable a server to estimate a remaining lifetime for each of the monitored wireless beacons, and based on the estimated remaining lifetime, to predict a business effect assuming a failure of each of the monitored wireless beacons. Such predicted business effect may be communicated between the merchant and the server so as to let the merchant be aware of any business effect that may occur in a short-term future.
Abstract:
There are provided systems and method for USB human interface device type wireless beacons connected to point of sale devices for communication with communication devices. A wireless beacon at the merchant location may connect with a communication device. When a user wishes to pay for an item, the beacon may alert the communication device by transmitting a payment request to the communication device. The communication device may then respond with a payment token that may be utilized to determine payment information for the payment request. The communication device or the beacon may encrypt the payment token. The beacon may be connected to a point of sale device through a USB human interface device connection and the payment token may be transmitted to a point of sale device. Thus, a merchant may retrieve the payment information using a payment provider and receive payment for the transaction.
