摘要: A balloon catheter system for the intraluminal advancement of conventional guidewires beyond partially or fully occluded or stenosed lesions in body passages, such as CTOs in the vasculature, is provided. Balloons are provided. In certain embodiments of the invention, a balloon having relatively thickened proximal tapers is provided. In certain embodiments of the invention, balloons having a tapered midsection are provided. The balloons are preferably useful with crossing balloon catheter systems. In certain embodiments of the invention, the balloons preferably reduce or minimize trauma to the vascular wall or wall of other body passage in which it is used.

摘要: The present invention is directed to a method of securing suture within a patient. The method comprises advancing suture material into the patient, passing a portion of the suture material through tissue of the patient, and advancing a fastener catheter and a suture fastener along the suture material. The fastener catheter includes a catheter main body and a handle. The suture fastener has a generally cylindrical body formed of a shape memory material and a suture fastener inner lumen. The suture fastener has at least one engagement tab biased to extend at least partially into the suture fastener inner lumen to engage against and secure one or more lines of suture passing through the suture fastener.

摘要: This invention relates to steerable catheters. More particularly, this invention relates to a steerable catheter comprising a flexible catheter member having distal and proximal ends and one or more lumens, the single lumen or one of the lumens being closed at its distal end, the one or more other lumens being open, for introduction of a central guide wire or other desired object; a deflection wire having distal and proximal ends and axially extending the length of the catheter member through the lumen having the closed end, the distal end of the deflection wire being embedded in the closed end; and control means attached to the proximal end of the catheter member, the proximal end of the deflection wire extending to the control means and the control means having an engaging means which fixedly engages the deflection wire.

More specifically, the invention is directed to a guidewire which comprises flexible tubing having proximal and distal ends and inner and outer surfaces, a helically wound flexible spring coil having proximal and distal ends, the proximal end of the spring coil being attached to the flexible tubing and the distal end of the spring coil comprising stretched coils, a deflection wire extending through the flexible tubing and spring coil, the deflection wire having proximal and distal ends, optionally a control wire having proximal and distal ends, the proximal end of the control wire being attached to the spring coil proximal to the stretched coils, and a rounded tip engaging the distal end of the spring coil, the distal end of the deflection wire, and the distal end of the control wire.

摘要: The present invention is various systems for repairing tissue within the heart of a patient. The system of the present invention includes a guide catheter, a therapy catheter, and a fastener catheter. The therapy catheter and the fastener catheter are capable of traversing the internal lumen of the guide catheter. The fastener catheter is capable of introducing a suture clip to a desired position along suture line, deploying the suture clip to secure the suture and cutting excess suture. In addition, the present invention discloses various methods for repairing tissue.
