A canister is attached to a header tank and includes an upper inlet and a lower outlet. Before end cap is brazed to close the bottom of canister, a tube of desiccant material is installed into the canister by a standoff. The standoff includes a disk shaped base and narrow central post which is comparable in length to the height of the inlet above the lower end cap. This is followed by inserting a spur of a higher melting temperature into the canister into a position and extending radially from the post and into an interference fit with the interior wall of the canister that is tighter than the interference fit between the base and the canister.

A condenser (10) with a return header tank (14) has a receiver or reservoir canister (22) physically attached along side the return header tank (14), and open thereto through a discrete upper inlet (20) and lower outlet (21). The bottom of canister (22) is closed by an end cap (34) that is, preferably, welded or brazed in place. Before end cap (34) is attached, a tube of desiccant material (24) is installed and located within canister (22) by a standoff (26) comprised of a tight fitting, notched, disk shaped base (28) and narrow central post (30) which is comparable in length to the height of the inlet (20) above the lower end cap (34). The tight fit allows the tube (24) to be inserted up into the canister (22), well away from the bottom of canister (22) and free of heat damage as the end cap (34) is attached. Later, in operation, the central post (30) keeps the tube (24) located clear of the inlet (20) and outlet (21).

An air permeable protective camouflage screen is mounted in front of the air-intake side of a vehicle heat exchanger. The screen includes substantially horizontal and vertical intersecting walls, forming a plurality of apertures. The screen has at least two zones with apertures of different shapes for controlling air flow through the screen into the heat exchanger. The zones are oriented to allow relatively more air to pass into the first section of the heat exchanger having higher temperatures than the second section. The screen may include flaps mounted to the horizontal walls by living hinges, the flaps being disposed in the apertures when in a neutral closed position, being pivotable to allow air flow through the screen. The screen is substantially opaque when the flaps are in the neutral closed position, further camouflaging the heat exchanger, and the screen is made of non-corrosive material such as an organic polymeric material.

An end cap is disposed in each open end of cylindrical header tanks and each of the header tanks includes a tubeless length (X) extending inwardly a predetermined distance from each end cap. The ends of the reinforcing members extending over the tubeless lengths (X) of the header tanks which include a slot outside each end cap with a tab extending from each end of reinforcing members and into the adjacent slot. The system's components include a radiator, means to induce air flow through the radiator, and a shroud assembly for mounting a windshield washer fluid container downdraft of the radiator. The shroud assembly includes a radiator shroud that is adapted to mount onto the radiator to define a plenum for receiving heated air and a windshield washer fluid container. The windshield washer fluid container may be formed with the radiator shroud as a single integral unit. On the container surface is a heat conductive element that is in direct contact with both the heated air flow and windshield washer fluid.

The mounting device includes a seat portion adapted to receive a fluid transmission line. The mounting device further includes an opening extending from the seat portion and aligned with an aperture in the manifold for providing a fluid passageway between the manifold and the fluid transmission line. In addition, the mounting device includes at least one indentation formed therein for capturing contaminates and preventing an intrusion of the contaminates into the seat portion.
