摘要: An elastomer display system comprising a transparent silicon elastomer and electrodes for establishing a nonuniform electric field in the transparent silicon elastomer. Organic fluorescent centers are disposed within the transparent silicon elastomer. The electrodes are shaped in a desired configuration to ensure creation of the frost deformation in the transparent silicon elastomer when a predetermined voltage signal is applied to the electrodes. The frost deformation functions as a scattering center for the fluorescence derived from the organic fluorescent centers, thereby displaying a desired pattern.

摘要: There is disclosed a structure of a matrix display unit having a matrix display panel with mutually perpendicular groups of signal and scaning electrodes and a wiring board mounting thereon a driver circuit having output terminals disposed on two marginal edges of the wiring board. At least one of the marginal edges is bent closely toward the matrix display panel. Terminal electrodes of one of the groups of the matrix electrodes are electrically connected to the bent marginal edge in confronting relation through an electrically conductive anisotropic member, terminal electrodes of the other group of the matrix electrodes are electrically connected to the other marginal edge through a bent electrically conductive anisotropy member or a flexible wiring sheet.

摘要: A method is disclosed for forming an electrode pattern which is free of erosion, separation of a wiring pattern from a substrate, etc., through the use of a lift-up method, which comprises the steps of: etching a transparent, electrically conductive film deposited on a major surface of the substrate for the formation of the transparent electrode pattern; overlaying the whole of the major surface of the substrate with a layer of photoresist; removing a portion of said photoresist layer in the metal electrode pattern; coating substantially the entire major surface of the substrate with a layer of metal electrode material; and removing the remaining photoresist layer with the aid of a resist remover thereby forming the metal electrode pattern.

摘要: A method for making a multi-layered liquid crystal display panel is provided herein. More particularly, the method enables double-sided rubbing on at least one of a plurality of stacked glass supports and avoids possible flaws in a rubbed surface through the utilization of a protective coating covering the rubbed surface, thus providing liquid crystal display panels with excellent image quality. The protective coating is of sufficient mechanical strength and easily removable by means of a remover.

摘要: An image display apparatus is disclosed which includes: an optical system including a light source and at least one projection lens; a display means for forming a display image, the display means including a non-luminescent display panel and a microlens array disposed on the light-incidence side of the display panel; and at least one projection lens for projecting the display image; wherein the display panel and the microlens array are combined with each other by means of an adhesive made of a transparent material. In cases where the microlens array is provided with color filters which are arranged so as to correspond to the microlenses of this array, the image display apparatus can provide a bright display of color images with an improved contrast. Moreover, when the display panel and the microlens array are combined with each other by means of an adhesive containing spacers, the image display apparatus has a high thermal reliability.

摘要: A liquid crystal display cell includes two opposing substrates at least one of which is made of a highly polymerized transparent compound film. The transparent film is extended from the liquid crystal display cell. Wiring patterns are formed on the thus extended portion of the transparent film. Semiconductor circuit elements for driving the liquid crystal display cell are mounted on the extended portion of the transparent film and electrically connected to the wiring patterns.

摘要: In a multi-layer matrix type liquid crystal display panel having a stack of liquid crystal display cells and matrix electrodes provided for respective ones of the liquid crystal display cells, the supports of the respective liquid crystal display cells are piled sequentially, one on top of the other, with a first dimension sequentially longer and a second dimension sequentially shorter, thereby allowing enough room on all sides for electrode connections. A rigid circuit board has terminals which face away from the terminals of the display panel. The terminals of the display panel and the circuit board are connected through a plurality of flexible sheets.

The terminal electrodes and the wiring film are bonded through infrared radiation or thermal bonding. The film is typically made of polyamide or polyester carrying a patterned conductive material.

摘要: Two or more liquid crystal units are disclosed herein to provide a greater area liquid crystal display panel. Each of the liquid crystal display units has a front support and a back support both of which are adhesively attached to each other via a proper seal resin applied on the supports along all but one side or along all but two opposite sides thereof. In an edge portion including the sides where no seal resin is applied, there is formed an opening for injection of liquid crystal material into a cavity defined between the two supports. After injection of the liquid crystal material the opening is pre-sealed with the adhesive material which may be solidified through thermal treatment or light treatment. The edge portions of the two liquid crystal display panels are situated in contact relationship with each other and bonded together by the use of the adhesive material which may be solidified through thermal treatment or light treatment.

摘要: A liquid crystal display TV includes a TV housing, and a reflective type liquid crystal display panel installed in the housing. A magnifying lens is disposed for magnifying an image on the display area and a support assembly is provided for supporting the magnifying lens to allow a space where the ambient light enters from above a display area of said liquid crystal display panel when the magnifying lens lens is in use. This arrangement allows full utilization of the ambient light for the optical performance of the liquid crystal display panel.
