A process for preparing a color proofing sheet is disclosed. The process comprises imagewise exposing a light-sensitive image-forming material comprising a transparent support having provided thereon a dye- or pigment-containing light-sensitive photoresist composition layer or both a dye- or pigment-containing colorant layer and a light-sensitive photoresist composition layer through a color separation mask, developing the material to form a color separation image, transferring the color separation image onto a photopolymerizable image-receiving layer, transferring in registration at least one more color separation image onto the same image-receiving layer to obtain a multicolored color proofing sheet on a single support, and totally exposing the image-receiving layer after the image transfer in an amount sufficient to induce photopolymerization thereof. A color proofing sheet realizing color reproduction essentially the same as actual print copies and has a good image strength and non-tackiness can be obtained by the process.

Disclosed is an image forming process employing a light-sensitive image forming material and a developing solution. The image forming material comprises a support and either a light-sensitive resin layer containing a pigment or a colorant layer containing a pigment and a light-sensitive resin layer, superposed in order. A light-sensitive image-forming material which has on a support a coloring layer comprising a coloring agent and an alkali soluble organic macromolecular binder, and a photopolymer layer, in the order listed, with the coloring layer further containing a particular fluorine-containing surface active agent, whereby uniform film thickness is ensured to the coloring layer even when drying is carried out in a short time using simple equipment. The fluorine-containing surface active agent is a copolymer comprising as repeating units (1) an acrylate or a methacrylate which has a fluorinated alphatic group containing from 3 to 20 carbon atoms and not less than 40 wt % of fluorine atoms, with the aliphatic group having a terminal moiety containing at least 3 fluorinated carbon atoms, and (2) a poly(oxyalkylene)acrylate or a poly(oxyalkylene)methacrylate. In addition, the portion of the fluorinated aliphatic group-containing acrylate or methacrylate repeating unit is from 10 to 70% by weight.

An image receiving sheet having a support sheet and an image receiving layer thereon, the support sheet of the image receiving sheet being a porous sheet made of plastics which have fine pores therein. An image forming method is conducted by using the heat sensitive ink sheet and an image receiving sheet by area gradation by the use of a thermal head or laser beam.
