Abstract:
A LIGHT-SENSITIVE SOLVENT SOLUBLE FILM-FORMING POLYMER CONTAINING A PROPARGYL GROUP IS DISCLOSED. THE PROPARGYL GROUP-CONTAINING POLYMERS CAN BE USED AS A PHOTORESIST WITH OR WITHOUT A SENSITIZER. IN ANOTHER ASPECT OF THE DISCLOSURE, A SENSITIZER-STABILIZER COMPRISING A XANTHEN-9ONE OR A THIOXANETHEN-9-ONE IS DISCLOSED.
Abstract:
1,200,339. Anthraquinone dyestuffs. GAF CORP. 4 Dec., 1967 [5 Dec., 1966], No. 54961/67. Heading C4P. The invention comprises anthraquinone dyestuffs of general formula wherein X is -NHR or OH, R is H, C 1 -C 4 alkyl, Y is H, C 1 -C 4 alkoxy or halogen, and Z is H, hydroxy or -NHR with the proviso that at least one of Y and Z is the grouping wherein B is -O- or -NH-, R 1 is H, C 1 -C 4 alkyl or C 1 -C 4 alkoxy and R 2 represents the carbon atoms necessary to complete a 5- to 7- membered heterocycle of the lactam series, e.g. a pyrrolidinone, piperidone or e-caprolactam ring. They are prepared by reacting the corresponding anthraquinone compound with an N-methylol lactam at 15‹ to 60‹ C. in an acid medium, e.g. sulphuric acid. The dyes give reddish blue and cerise shades on polyester, polyamide or cellulose.
Abstract:
SULFONYLMETHYL DERIVATIVES OF N-METHYL-2-PYRROLIDINONE OF THE STRUCTURAL FORMULA: WHEREIN R REPRESENTS A HYDROCARBON GROUP SUCH AS ALKYL, ARYL, CYCLOALKYL, ARALKYL OR ALKARYL, ARE USEFUL AS DYESTUFF INTERMEDIATES. THEY ARE PREPARED BY THE REACTION OF NHYDROXYMETHYL - 2 - PYRROLIDINONE WITH AN APPROPRIATE SULFINIC ACID.
Abstract:
A method of preparing heterocyclic derivatives selected from the formulae:
WHEREIN X is selected from hydrogen, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, and halogen; Y is selected from hydroxy and X; Z is selected from nitrogen, oxygen, and sulfur by reacting an o- aminobenzenethiol, o-aminophenol, or o- aminoaniline and substituted derivatives thereof with an ortho-substituted benzoic acid or 2-substituted naphtholic acid in the presence of a catalyst comprising phosphorus trichloride. The compounds produced by the process of the present invention are useful as stabilizers in various organic media, e.g., organic plastics, oils, etc. and as intermediates in the production of dyestuffs and fluorescent compounds.
