Abstract: A method includes applying a plurality of currents to a plurality of electrodes disposed on a surface surrounding an anatomical region in a subject. Further, the method includes measuring a plurality of voltages generated in response to the plurality of currents. The method also includes selecting a coarse-scale basis corresponding to a response function associated with the plurality of electrodes. Moreover, the method includes determining simultaneously an internal admittivity corresponding to the anatomical region and a contact impedance corresponding to the plurality of electrodes based on the plurality of voltages and the coarse-scale basis. The method also includes reconstructing the diagnostic image based on the internal admittivity.

Abstract: A measurement tool configured to be run through a bore of a hydrocarbon well. The measurement tool includes a dielectric core, a controller disposed at a first end of the dielectric core, a first wire helically disposed about the dielectric core and extending from the controller to a first location a first distance from the controller, and a second wire helically disposed about the dielectric core and extending from the controller to a second location a second distance from the controller. The controller provides first and second input signals to the first and second wires, and receives first and second reflected signals from the first and second wires.

Abstract: Systems and methods for examining a route inject one or more electrical examination signals into a conductive route from onboard a vehicle system traveling along the route, detect one or more electrical characteristics of the route based on the one or more electrical examination signals, apply a filter to the one or more electrical characteristics, and detect a break in conductivity of the route responsive to the one or more electrical characteristics decreasing by more than a designated drop threshold for a time period within a designated drop time period. Feature vectors may be determined for the electrical characteristics and compared to one or more patterns in order to distinguish between breaks in the conductivity of the route and other causes for changes in the electrical characteristics.

Abstract: Implementations are disclosed for monitoring a state or change in state of a physiological parameter based on measured impedance data. In certain implementations, no images are reconstructed from the impedance data. In certain implementations, a metric (e.g., distinguishability, likelihood ratios, and so forth) may be computed and compared to reference metrics or thresholds, such as for changes over time or in comparison to a standard to determine the presence or absence of a physiological state of interest or of a change in such state.

Abstract: The present approach generally relates to systems and methods for implementing energy modulated tomographic imaging of nanoparticles. In certain embodiments, a first energy is used to activate probe particles labeling an anatomy or tissue of interest. The probe particles, once activated, emit photons at a different rate and/or spectrum in response to an underlying physiological event, such as action potentials propagating in the labeled anatomy or tissue. The emitted photons may then be detected and used to map or image the occurrence of the physiological event.

Abstract: A method and system for performing electrical impedance imaging of a subject of interest using a plurality of electrodes is provided. The method includes applying one or more determined current patterns to one or more electrodes of the plurality of electrodes. Further, the method includes determining a resultant voltage at at least one electrode of the one or more electrodes in response to the one or more determined current patterns. Moreover, the method includes estimating a change in a contact impedance for the at least one electrode of the one or more electrodes. Additionally, the method includes calculating a compensated voltage for the at least one electrode based on an estimated change in a corresponding contact impedance of the at least one electrode.
