Abstract: Systems are provided for a patient isolation unit for use with a medical imaging system includes an enclosure comprised of a pathogen impermeable material compatible with one or more imaging systems. Abstract: Disclosed are novel cell-penetrating transporters for enhancing cellular uptake of peptide fusion proteins into live cells. The cell-penetrating transporters comprise a functionalized peptide construct comprising a cell importation peptide covalently bound to a cargo, the cell importation peptide in an unreactive monomeric form, and a pharmaceutical carrier. In certain embodiments, the cargo further comprises a nuclear localization sequence (NLS) allowing the cargo to be transported across the nuclear membrane.
