Abstract: A water-based binder solution comprises a thermoplastic binder, greater than or equal to 4 wt % to less than or equal to 20 wt % of a non-aqueous solvent having a boiling point greater than or equal to 100° C. and less than or equal to 175° C., and water. The thermoplastic binder comprises a first polymer strand having a weight average molecular weight (Mw) of from 5,000 g/mol to 15,000 g/mol; and at least one of a second polymer strand having a weight average molecular weight (Mw) of from 10,000 g/mol to 50,000 g/mol and a third polymer strand having a weight average molecular weight (Mw) of from 1,000 g/mol to 5,000 g/mol. A method of monitoring a print head of an additive manufacture process comprises depositing a water-based binder solution on the thermal paper.

Abstract: A binder comprises a monomer and an initiator. The monomer comprises at least one of a difunctional monomer and a monofunctional monomer. A method of manufacturing a part includes depositing a layer of particulate material on a working surface; selectively applying a binder in at least one of an edge of the layer of particulate material and an infill pattern representative of a stress of the object; repeating the steps of depositing and selectively applying to form a plurality of layers of particulate material with the applied binder; and exposing the plurality of layers of particulate material with the applied binder to an excitation source to decompose the initiator and initiate polymerization of the monomer to thereby form the green body part.

Abstract: In various embodiments, a water-based binder solution for use in additive manufacturing, includes a thermoplastic binder. The thermoplastic binder includes a first polymer strand having a weight average molecular weight (Mw) of from greater than or equal to 5,000 g/mol to less than or equal to 15,000 g/mol, a second polymer strand having a weight average molecular weight of from greater than or equal to 10,000 g/mol to less than or equal to 50,000 g/mol, and a third polymer strand having a weight average molecular weight of from greater than or equal to 1,000 g/mol to less than or equal to 5,000 g/mol. Abstract: A setter assembly for use in additive manufacturing a binder-jet part includes a base, a first setter component having a first setter portion and a second setter portion that may be removably coupled to the first setter portion and a plurality of protrusions disposed on and extending away from a surface of the base. The plurality of protrusions may align the base with the first setter component and enable coupling of the first setter component to the base. The setter assembly also includes a second setter component positioned between the base and the first setter component. The second setter component is disposed on the surface and the first setter component, the second setter component, and the base can be assembled onto a printed part such that at least a portion of the printed part is nested between the first setter component and the second setter component.

Abstract: Methods comprising probing multiple targets in an H&E stained biological sample are provided. The methods include the steps of providing a hematoxylin and eosin stained biological sample containing multiple targets, optionally detecting H&E staining of the sample, removing the hematoxylin and eosin signals, and detecting additional features or targets in the biological sample. The detecting step may include performing the steps of binding at least one probe to one or more targets to the sample, detecting a signal from the probe and contacting the sample with a bleaching agent. Abstract: Methods comprising the use of photoactivated chemical bleaching for detecting multiple targets in a biological sample are provided. The methods include the steps of providing a biological sample containing multiple targets, binding at least one probe to one or more target present in the sample, and observing a signal from the probe. The method further includes the steps of contacting the sample comprising the bound probe with an electron transfer reagent and irradiating the sample, thereby initiating a photoreaction that substantially inactivates the probe by photoactivated chemical bleaching. The method further includes the steps of binding at least one probe to one or more target present in the sample, and observing a signal from the probe. The process of binding, observing and bleaching may be iteratively repeated.
