Abstract: Embodiments include methods, systems and computer readable storage medium for a method for making temporal corrections to position data received a plurality of components. The method includes receiving, by a processor, vehicle location data and a time stamp associated with the vehicle location data from one or more components. The method further includes calculating, by the processor, a time difference between the time stamp and a current time received from the one or more components. The method further includes determining, by the processor, a time offset using the time difference and a distance travelled between the time stamp and an occurrence of the determination for each of the one or more components. The method further includes providing, by the processor, a corrected vehicle location using the time offset for each of the one or more component.

Abstract: A method for optimizing inter-vehicle order and distance includes communicating vehicle characteristics representative of a first and at least one second vehicle as the first vehicle approaches the at least one second vehicle. Based on the vehicle characteristics, a position in a driving order of the first vehicle with respect to the at least one second vehicle is selected and executed. A real-time fuel economy is recorded as the vehicle in the trailing position moves from a maximum following distance to a minimum following distance from the vehicle in the lead position. Based on at least the recorded real-time fuel economy, an optimal inter-vehicle distance between the vehicles in the lead and trailing positions is selected and executed.

Abstract: A vehicle and method for intra-vehicle communication within the vehicle involve a sending controller to transmit a message, and a receiving controller to receive the message. The vehicle includes one or more switches to relay the message from the sending controller to the receiving controller. The sending controller and each of the one or more switches include an egress port for transmission of the message. A processor performs bounded timing analysis to determine a total wait time during transmission of the message from the sending controller to the receiving controller as a sum of each egress port wait time at each egress port encountered by the message. Action is taken to avoid or mitigate the total wait time during transmission exceeding a deadline for the message, and the bounded timing analysis includes performing an iterative process and determining a lower bound (LB), an upper bound (UB), and a median value.

Abstract: A vehicle system controller having an asymmetric system architecture and a method of operating the vehicle system controller is provided. The vehicle system controller includes a primary controller and a secondary controller in communications with the vehicle systems. Each of the controllers include a memory unit containing software application and a processor for executing the software to generate commands for the vehicle systems. The memory unit of the secondary controller contains only a subset of the total software applications contained in the memory unit of the primary controller. The subset of software applications is only for the operation of pre-identified features of the vehicle systems. The vehicle systems are configured to default to commands from the primary controller, but switches to the commands from the secondary controller for a predetermined length of time if the primary controller becomes fail-silent.

Abstract: A system and method for transmitting a plurality of signals. The system includes a transmitting terminal configured to obtain and pack the plurality of signals in multiple signal sequences, with each of the plurality of signals having respective predefined periods. A receiving terminal is configured to receive and unpack the multiple signal sequences from the transmitting terminal. A controller is in communication with the transmitting terminal and the receiving terminal and configured to store a look-up table. The look-up table includes a respective pre-identifier and respective identifier for each of the plurality of signals. The controller is configured to determine if the respective predefined periods vary in magnitude within a frame. If so, the controller is configured to obtain the respective pre-identifiers and respective identifiers for each of the plurality of signals. The multiple signal sequences are based at least partially on the respective pre-identifiers and the respective identifiers.
