摘要: A method and system for automatically helping a teacher/educator evaluate assessments administered to students for determining student's attributes. The teacher/educator reviews stored assessment forms at a digital user interface (DUI) at a multifunction device (MFD) and selects the desired forms and creates an Assessment Batch which includes a List of Students to be given the forms for marking. The system automatically codes each form with personalized student information and prints the individualized assessment forms. The teacher/educator administers the assessment and assessment forms are manually marked, collected and scanned at the MFD, entered into storage and the marked images automatically analyzed and the assessments automatically evaluated from stored rubrics and the teacher/educator is automatically notified by email that the evaluation has been performed. The system enables the teacher/educator to review the evaluations remotely and validate/annotate the evaluation and update the records in storage The Assessment Batch may be created for a list of students in a group, a class, a grade level, a school, a plurality of schools and students in a geographical area.

摘要: An image editor stores color pixels for an image to be edited in an image pixel buffer and a lookup register bank. The stored image is displayed on a monitor. An operator uses a mouse to designate a screen path that identifies an object in the image, and pixel position data is detected for the screen path. A programmed computer determines in real time one or more criteria for a search controller on the basis of hue, saturation and luminance variables which are determined from the stored pixel color data for pixels along the screen path. The computer further searches the image pixels to identify the object and its boundaries in accordance with the search controller criteria, and applies color edit actions to the identified object within the image.

摘要: An ink jet printhead having an integral membrane filter fabricated over the surface of the printhead containing the ink inlet is disclosed. The individual printheads are obtained by a sectioning operation which cuts aligned and bonded channel and heater wafers. The mated wafers contain a plurality of printheads and must be separated. The integral membrane filter is formed on the channel wafer after it is anisotropically etched incorporating the etch resistant mask layer and prior to mating with the heater wafer. A patternable layer is deposited over the etch resistant masking layer and exposed, patterned and developed to establish the mesh filter. In one embodiment, the side of the channel wafer not patterned and etched is heavily doped to form an etch stop which increases the robustness of the membrane filter by ensuring that the masking layer remains intact during subsequent fabricating steps. This doped region beneath the patternable layer is then etched using the membrane filter as a mask to open the filter pores through the doped layer of the channel wafer, thereby increasing the filter thickness and its overall strength.

摘要: An ink jet printhead fabrication process wherein a plurality of printheads are produced from two mated substrates by two dicing operations. One dicing operation produces the nozzle face for each of a plurality of printheads and optionally produces the nozzles. This dicing blade, together with specific operating parameters, prevent the nozzles from chipping and the nozzle faces from scratches and abrasions. A second dicing operation with a standard dicing blade severs the mated substrates into separate printheads. The dicing operation which produces the nozzle face is preferably conducted in a two-step operation. A first cut makes the nozzle face, but does not sever the two mated substrates. A second dicing cut severs the two substrates, but does so in a manner that prevents contact by the dicing blade with the nozzle face.

摘要: An automated method for extracting highlighted regions in a scanned text documents includes color masking of highlight regions, extracting text from highlighted regions, recognizing the characters in extracted text optically and inserting the recognized characters to new document in order to easily identify highlighted text in scanned images. Using a two-layer multi-mask compression technology configured in a scanned export image path, edges and text regions can be extracted and together with the use of mask coordinates and associated mask colors, all highlighted texts can be easily identified and extracted. Optical Character Recognition (OCR) can then be utilized to appropriate summarization of different extracted highlighted texts.
