摘要: Apparatuses, methods, and systems are disclosed for supporting delegated data connections. One apparatus includes a processor and a transceiver that receives an access request indicating that a remote unit requires to access a first access network. The processor determines to establish a delegated data connection in a mobile communication network for the remote unit, the delegated data connection connecting the apparatus with an external data network. The processor enables the authentication of the remote unit by converting a first authentication signaling used by the mobile communication network to a second authentication signaling used by the first access network. The processor controls the transceiver to forward data traffic between the remote unit and the external data network over the delegated data connection, wherein the delegated data connection is reserved for use by the remote unit.

摘要: Apparatuses, methods, and systems are disclosed for registering with a mobile communication network (“MCN”) through another MCN. One apparatus includes a processor and a transceiver, wherein the apparatus is registered with a first MCN. The processor determines to register with a second MCN via the first MCN and sends a request to establish a data connection with the first MCN. The processor receives a command from the first MCN that initiates an authentication procedure with the first MCN and a registration procedure for registering the apparatus with the MCN. The processor exchanges a plurality of authentication messages with the first MCN, each of the authentication messages containing a signaling message for registering the apparatus with the second MCN, and completes the registration with the second MCN via the data connection in response to successfully establishing the data connection.

One apparatus includes a processor and a transceiver for communicating with one or more non-3GPP access networks. The processor creates a first list of available PLMNs connectable via non-3GPP access networks. Here, the first list indicates one or more trusted connectivity types supported for each PLMN. The processor selects a first PLMN and a first connectivity type supported by the first PLMN. The processor creates a second list of available non-3GPP access networks. The processor selects a highest priority available non-3GPP network that supports the first connectivity type to the first PLMN. The processor begins a connectivity procedure with the first PLMN using the first connectivity type over the selected non-3GPP access network.

One apparatus includes a processor and a transceiver that communicates with a mobile communication network (“MCN”) using multiple network connections. The processor receives a first request to establish an IMS session with an IMS network, the first request including multiple media types. Here, the IMS network is reachable via the multiple network connections, each network connection communicating with a different network slice type of the MCN. The processor selects a network connection to be used for communicating media traffic for each media type and transmits a IMS session request to the IMS network using a first network connection. Here, the IMS session request indicates parameters to be used for communicating the media traffic for each media type using the selected network connection.

摘要: Apparatuses, methods, and systems are disclosed for supporting edge data network discovery. One apparatus includes a transceiver and a processor that receives a first request from a function in the mobile communication network including a UE identity and a UE network address. The processor determines whether the UE is located in a first service area based on a UE location and forwards a DNS request received from the UE network address to a first DNS server associated with the first service area in response to determining that the UE is located in the first service area. Via the transceiver, the processor receives a DNS reply from the first DNS server and sends a second request to a policy function in the mobile communication network in response to determining that the DNS reply includes a first IP address.
