摘要:
A product formed by high velocity injection molding. The product may include a body portion formed of a polymer-based resin, wherein upon being formed by high velocity injection molding, the body portion has a gate position, a last fill position, a flow length to wall thickness ratio greater than or equal to about 200, wherein the flow length is measured from the gate position to the last fill position, and a wall thickness less than or equal to about 1 millimeter, wherein the polymer-based resin has a melt flow index less than or equal to about 1000 grams/10 minutes.
摘要:
Disclosed herein is a method of injection molding at low, substantially constant melt pressures. Embodiments of the disclosed method now make possible a method of injection molding that is more energy—and cost—effective than conventional high-velocity injection molding processes. Embodiments of the disclosed method surprisingly allow for the filling of a mold cavity at low melt pressure without undesirable premature hardening of the thermoplastic material in the mold cavity and without the need for maintaining a constant temperature or heated mold cavity. Heretofore, it would not have been expected that a constant pressure method could be performed at low pressure without such premature hardening of the thermoplastic material when using an unheated mold cavity or cooled mold cavity.

Disclosed herein are degradable sachets useful for enclosing a consumer product, such as, for example, shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothpaste, bar soap, and detergent. The sachets of the invention have a moisture vapor transmission rate (MVTR) of less than about ten grams per square meter per day (g/m2/day) at 37° C. and 90% relative humidity (RH), and can disintegrate into pieces sufficiently small to pass through a one millimeter sieve, within two years after first and continuous exposure to water and microorganisms.

Disclosed herein is a composition substantially free of polyethylene, wherein the composition includes a thermoplastic material having certain specified mechanical properties, and about 2 wt. % to about 25 wt. % (based on the total weight of the composition) of an olefin mixture that consists essentially of a 30:70 to 70:30 weight ratio of a homogeneous ethylene-alpha olefin interpolymer and a propylene-based elastomer having at least 75 wt. % units derived from propylene and about 10 wt. % to about 25 wt. % units derived from a C2 or a C4-10 alpha olefin. The specified olefin mixture unexpectedly imparts to the overall composition mechanical properties (such as impact strength, for example) heretofore unattainable. These mechanical properties can be expected to be tailored to suit the end-use expected of the composition.

摘要:
The present invention relates to a solid preform made from polyethylene material, wherein the preform comprises a neck region, side walls and a base region, and has an interior having inner walls and an exterior having outer walls; characterised in that at least 65% of the polyethylene material by weight of the total polyethylene material has a Z-average molecular weight (Mz) of between 300,000 g/mol and 6,000,000 g/mol, and a Mz/Mn value of greater than 28, where Mn is the number average molecular weight, and Mz/Mn is the Mz value divided by the Mn value.
