摘要: Apparatus is provided for accessing a body cavity comprising a tubular member formed by everting a length of material upon itself to form a tubular annulus. The tubular member has a deflated insertion configuration and an inflated expanded configuration that facilitates viewing within the body cavity. The tubular member may include proximal and distal cuffs that facilitate placement of the apparatus within a body cavity or organ, and an inflation lumen that enhances rigidity of the device in the deflated configuration, thereby assisting insertion into the body cavity.

摘要: Apparatus is provided for accessing a body cavity comprising a tubular member having a deflated insertion configuration and an inflated expanded configuration that facilitates viewing within the body cavity. The apparatus is formed by everting a length of material upon itself to form a tube having a single circumference seam at the distal end, and includes an inflation tube that is sufficiently rigid to assist in inserting the tubular member into a body cavity in the deflated insertion configuration. The tubular member further includes a pattern of staggered contact areas that configured so as to avoid the creation of longitudinal features that preferentially bend when loaded, thereby ensuring that tubular member provides a substantially circular central lumen.

摘要: Devices and treatments for various joint conditions include a resilient elongate orthopedic device inserted into a joint space using a suture. The suture is passed through the joint space and used to pull the orthopedic device into the joint space. The suture may be using a percutaneously inserted needle or other type of needle-based delivery instrument. The resilient elongate orthopedic device may be restrained to a reduced profile that permits minimally invasive implantation, but assume an enlarged profile when positioned at an implantation site.

摘要: The present invention is directed to an implantable vascular prosthesis configured for use in a wide range of applications, such as treating aneurysms, maintaining patency in a vessel, and allowing for the controlled delivery of therapeutic agents to a vessel wall. The prosthesis comprises one or more helical sections coupled to one or more anchoring sections having a generally zig-zag or cell-like configuration. The prosthesis is configured to conform to a vessel wall without substantially remodeling the vessel, and further is configured to be precisely deployed in a vessel without shifting or foreshortening during deployment.

摘要: Embolic protection and plaque removal apparatus and methods are provided wherein an aspiration device aspirates, filters and reperfuses blood using a closed fluid circuit having a bi-directional working lumen. The plaque removal device includes a plurality of self-expanding cutting elements that form cage that self-centers within the blood vessel to reduce the risk of trauma to the vessel lining.

摘要: The present invention is directed to a proximal catheter assembly configured to facilitate natural or suction-assisted aspiration through a catheter lumen. The proximal catheter assembly comprises a multi-function valve configured to perform functions associated with conventional check valves and relief valves. The valve is configured to regulate the direction of fluid flow, and further configured to regulate the rate of suction-assisted aspiration provided through the lumen of the catheter. When the rate of suction-assisted aspiration exceeds a predetermined threshold, the valve opens to allow fluid to be drawn from tubing coupled to the proximal catheter assembly, thereby mitigating excessively high rates of aspiration imposed upon the patient's vessel.
