Abstract: A variable displacement piston pump, having: a housing, a pivot assembly to pivot between minimal and maximum pivot angles; a pump cover defining an actuator bore with an actuator piston, an actuator arm extending from the actuator piston to the pivot assembly; and an electronic control unit (ECU) coupled to the pump, the ECU having: a pump controller, a linear variable differential transducer (LVDT) coupled to the pump controller and the actuator piston, and an electrohydraulic solenoid valve (EHSV) coupled to the pump controller, the ECU is configured to: determine a pivot differential for the pivot assembly between a target pivot angle and a current pivot angle; determine a position differential for the actuator piston, corresponding to the pivot differential of the pivot assembly; control the EHSV to move the actuator piston by the position differential; and determine, from the LVDT, that the actuator piston moved by the position differential.

Abstract: A variable displacement fuel pump includes a pump body, a barrel disposed within the pump body, at least one piston disposed in the barrel, wherein the at least one piston is configured to reciprocate within the barrel, and an electronic control actuator operatively coupled to the barrel, wherein the control actuator rotates the barrel to a selected barrel angle relative to the at least one piston in response to a desired fuel flow.

Abstract: A synchronous engagement clutch (SEC) assembly is provided. The SEC assembly includes a starter ball guide and a carrier support. The starter ball guide includes opposed first and second sides and the carrier support includes opposed first and second sides. The first side of the starter ball guide defines an annular groove and the second side of the carrier support defines pockets. The starter ball guide and the carrier support are disposable with the first side of the starter ball guide facing the second side of the carrier support such that engagement balls are retainable in the pockets and the annular groove.
