Abstract: A system determines an object part density relative to a build region in a layer of build material used in an additive manufacturing machine, the object part density based on a relative portion of the build region where an energy absorbing agent is applied. The system controls a thermal characteristic of the build region in the layer of build material based on the determined object part density.

Abstract: In an example implementation, a method of processing a 3D object model includes receiving render data of a 2D slice of a 3D object model and generating distance values indicating how far away voxels in the 2D slice are from a nearest edge of the 3D object model. The method also includes detecting a feature of the 3D object model from the distance values, and generating modified render data to be subsequently used in a 3D printing system to produce the feature in a 3D part.

Abstract: In an example implementation, a method of printing a three-dimensional (3D) object includes, applying a layer of build powder onto a printing platform and depositing a deliberate micropattern of liquid agent onto the powder within a macropattern that defines a cross-section of a 3D object to be printed. The method includes forming a microstructure from the deliberate micropattern by applying fusing energy to the powder, the microstructure comprising fused areas and sintered areas between the fused areas.

Abstract: In an example, a method includes providing a build material. Print agent comprising colorant may be applied to a first portion of the build material to be fused in additive manufacturing, wherein the print agent is applied according to a target color for the first portion. A combination of a fusion inhibiting agent and colorant may be applied to a second portion of the build material, wherein the print agent is applied according to the target color of the first portion and the second portion is adjacent to the first portion. The method may further include heating the build material by exposing the build material to radiation so as to cause fusing of the first portion.

The fusing agent includes cesium tungsten oxide nanoparticles, a zwitterionic stabilizer, and an aqueous vehicle. The polymeric build material is exposed to electromagnetic radiation to fuse the portion of the polymeric build material in contact with the fusing agent to form a layer.

Abstract: In a three-dimensional printing method example, a polymeric or polymeric composite build material is applied. A fusing agent is applied on at least a portion of the build material. The fusing agent includes an aqueous or non-aqueous vehicle and an inorganic pigment dispersed in the aqueous or non-aqueous vehicle, wherein the inorganic pigment is selected from the group consisting of lanthanum hexaboride, tungsten bronzes, indium tin oxide, aluminum zinc oxide, ruthenium oxide, silver, gold, platinum, iron pyroxenes, modified iron phosphates (AxFeyPO4), modified copper pyrophosphates (AxCuyP2O7), and combinations thereof. The build material is exposed to electromagnetic radiation, thereby fusing the portion of the build material in contact with the fusing agent to form a layer.

Abstract: In a three-dimensional printing method example, a polymeric or polymeric composite build material is applied. A fusing agent is applied on at least a portion of the build material. The fusing agent includes an aqueous or non-aqueous vehicle and a plasmonic resonance absorber having absorption at wavelengths ranging from 800 nm to 4000 nm and having transparency at wavelengths ranging from 400 nm to 780 nm dispersed in the aqueous or non-aqueous vehicle. The build material is exposed to electromagnetic radiation, thereby fusing the portion of the build material in contact with the fusing agent to form a layer.
