Abstract: A fuel injection valve includes a valve body, a coil, an inner fixed iron core that is arranged on an inner peripheral side of the coil, and an outer fixed iron core that is arranged on an outer peripheral side of the coil. The fuel injection valve also includes a movable element that is configured to be attracted to the inner fixed iron core and the outer fixed iron core, wherein the movable element is configured to be separable from the valve body and is configured to move the valve body.

Abstract: In a drive unit of a fuel injection device, an electric current is supplied to the fuel injection device by applying a high voltage to the fuel injection device from a high voltage source whose voltage is boosted to a voltage higher than a battery voltage at the time of opening a valve of the fuel injection device. Thereafter, the electric current supplied to the fuel injection device is lowered to a current value at which a valve element cannot be held in a valve open state by stopping the applying of the high voltage from the high voltage source. Thereafter, in a stage where a supply current is switched to a hold current, another high voltage is applied to the fuel injection device from the high voltage source.

Abstract: A fuel injection valve having a variable stroke mechanism is constructed. A valve body provided to be slidable; a first movable element for cooperating with the valve body; an inner fixed iron core provided at a position to oppose a second movable element; an outer fixed iron core; and a coil are included. A lift amount of the second movable element is set larger than a lift amount of the first movable element, and a portion of the second movable element is projected into the first movable element. In this way, large and small lifts are constituted by using a difference between magnetic attractive forces that are generated in the first movable element and the second movable element by a current supplied to the coil.

Abstract: A fuel injection valve is provided that can reduce variations in stroke length by reducing distortion during welding, and consequently can reduce variations in flow rate of injected fuel. The fuel injection valve has a nozzle; a fixed valve that is press-fit into a tip of the nozzle and has a fuel injection port from which the fuel is injected; and a movable element that forms a fuel seal section by abutting against the fixed valve, and opens and closes the fuel injection port. The fixed valve and the nozzle are fixed in place by welding at a position with no space due to press-fitting. A groove that serves as an empty space is provided in a continuation of a welded section that is formed in the fixed valve and the nozzle by the welding.

The current of an electromagnetic valve reaches I2 at time t3, an FET 201 and an FET 221 are turned on, and a battery voltage VB is applied to the electromagnetic valve until time t5 is reached. The amount of displacement of the valve body reaches a target amount of control lift at time t4 between time t3 and time t5, that is, a movable core 304 comes into contact with a fixed core 301. The detection of the valve opening timing is performed during the period from time t3 to time t5.
