    Abstract: A fuel injector is configured such that a non-magnetic member constituting a magnetic circuit is deformed by an axial force generated when the non-magnetic member is combined with a cover and a housing, thereby providing airtight contact. The fuel injector is a device that injects fuel into an engine by raising a needle. A magnetic field generated from a coil forms a magnetic circuit when the coil is magnetized, and the magnetic circuit raises the needle. The fuel injector includes a block ring disposed inside the coil, a cover disposed at an upper end of the block ring, and a housing disposed at a lower end of the block ring. The block ring is made of a non-magnetic material and configured to extend the magnetic circuit. When the cover and the housing are combined by being screwed together, the upper end and the lower end of the block ring are deformed to provide airtight contact with respect to the cover and the housing, respectively.

    Abstract: A fluid injector includes a valve body, a valve needle and axially moveable in the valve body between a closing position that prevents a fluid injection and further positions that permit the fluid injection, an armature coupled to the valve needle for displacing the valve needle away from the closing position, and a solenoid assembly including at least a first and second coil and operable to magnetically actuate the armature via an electrical signal. A method for operating the fluid injector includes applying the electrical signal to the first coil to generate a magnetic field to move the armature for displacing the valve needle away from the closing position, evaluating a voltage across terminals of the first coil, and controlling the second coil with a further electrical signal to saturate a magnetic field in a portion of the valve body between the armature and solenoid assembly during evaluating the voltage.

    Abstract: A magnetic actuator, which is used particularly for devices of internal combustion engines, includes a magnetic coil and at least one ferromagnetic component. In this instance, a magnetic flux caused by the magnetic coil is able to be guided via the component. On ferromagnetic component, a magnetic choke point is provided, which is used to adjust the magnetic flux. The magnetic choke point may be formed by a local microstructural modification of a ferromagnetic material of the ferromagnetic component.     Abstract: A fuel injection device of a direct injection engine is provided. The device includes an engine body, a fuel injection valve, and a controller for controlling a fuel injection by the fuel injection valve. The fuel injection valve has a nozzle hole, a valve body for opening and closing the nozzle hole, and first and solenoid coils for stroking the valve body by first and second stroke amounts, respectively. The controller performs the fuel injection by the first solenoid coil in an intake stroke period within an engine operating range with an engine load below a predetermined load. The controller performs the fuel injection with a fuel pressure of 40 MPa or above by the second solenoid coil in a period between a compression stroke late stage and an expansion stroke early stage within a low-engine-speed range with an engine speed below a predetermined speed and within a high-engine-load range.

    Abstract: A fuel injection device includes a fuel injector and a control portion. The fuel injector is inserted into an attachment hole which is placed at a predetermined position of a cylinder head. The fuel injector has a housing in which a coil is provided. At least a part of the housing which accumulates the coil is surrounded over the whole circumference by an inner circumference surface of the attachment hole. The control portion has an increasing control portion and a holding control portion. The increasing control portion increases a current flowing through the coil to a first target value. The holding control portion holds the current to the first target value.
