Abstract:
An engine, fuel injector, and method are disclosed. The method may include aligning an exhaust gas passage with an exhaust gas source to allow exhaust gas to enter a pre-chamber for a first duration; aligning a fuel passage with a fuel source to allow fuel to enter the pre-chamber for a second duration; and aligning injector nozzle connectors with injector nozzles, for a third duration, to allow a mixture of the fuel and the exhaust gas to be injected from the pre-chamber to the combustion chamber.

Abstract:
A dual fuel common rail engine supplies pressurized natural gas and liquid diesel fuel at different pressures through a co-axial quill assembly for direct injection from a single fuel injector into an engine cylinder. Pressure waves in the gaseous fuel common rail are damped in a pressure damping chamber of the co-axial quill assembly before the pressure wave can undermine consistent gaseous fuel injection rates and quantities from the fuel injector.
Abstract:
A method for controlling the operation of at least one fuel injector in a four stroke internal combustion engine is provided. The method includes the steps of initiating fuel injection into a combustion chamber during an expansion stroke of the engine, injecting fuel into the combustion chamber during an exhaust stroke of the engine, injecting fuel into the combustion chamber during an intake stroke of the engine, and terminating fuel injection into the combustion chamber during a compression stroke of the engine.
Abstract:
An existing diesel engine vehicle of light oil fuel is enabled to run as a diesel engine vehicle using DME as fuel without exchanging a whole diesel engine and at very low cost and easily. The shape of a tip part 21 of a needle valve 2 is set by a center diameter L3 for regulating a minimum flow path area at full lift of a fuel injection nozzle 1, a seat diameter L2 of a seat part 211 coming in contact with a valve seat part 33 and blocking communication with a fuel injection hole 31, and a shaft diameter L1, and a tip end angle is about 92 degrees. The center diameter L3 is set to φ2.5 mm, the seat diameter L2 is set to φ3.0 mm, and the shaft diameter L1 is set to φ3.25 mm. The ratio of the center diameter L3 and the seat diameter L2 is L3/L2=2.5 mm/3.0 mm=about 0.833, and the ratio of the seat diameter L2 and the shaft diameter L1 is L2/L1=3.0 mm/3.25 mm=about 0.92.
Abstract:
A fuel injection valve for internal combustion engines, having a housing with a bore inside it that contains a longitudinally sliding outer valve needle which in turn contains a longitudinally sliding inner valve needle and the end of each valve needle oriented toward the combustion chamber controls at least one injection opening. The pressure in a control pressure chamber at least indirectly exerts a closing force on the outer valve needle and the pressure in a control pressure chamber at least indirectly exerts a closing force on the inner valve needle. The housing contains a control valve that has a valve chamber and a valve element contained in it, wherein the valve chamber has a connection to the leakage oil chamber a continuously open connection to the control chamber and a connection to the control pressure chamber. The valve element can move between a end position, the valve element closing the connection to the leakage oil chamber and opening the connection to the control pressure chamber and a second end position, closing the connection to the control pressure chamber and opening the connection to the leakage oil chamber.
Abstract:
An injector has a housing, a command piston, a control chamber, a needle, a nozzle chamber, a fuel inflow passage, a fuel discharge passage and an electric valve. The housing slidably supports the command piston and the needle. The housing and one end face of the command piston enclose the control chamber. The needle is disposed at the other end face side of the command piston. The housing and a leading end portion of the needle enclose the nozzle chamber to accumulate the high-pressure fuel therein. The housing is provided with an injection hole, which is opened and blocked by the needle. The fuel discharge passage opens at a fuel discharge port to the control chamber to discharge the high-pressure fuel out of the control chamber. The fuel discharge port is close to an uppermost position of the command piston.

Abstract:
A fuel injection device is so constructed that fuel fed from a pressure storage chamber to a valve housing (11) with a nozzle (14) is led to a needle valve back pressure chamber (16) through a groove (21) provided on the peripheral surface of a needle valve (17); a fuel pressure in the back pressure chamber (16) is controlled by opening and closing a pressure regulating port (13) provided in the valve housing by a pilot valve (38) so as to move the needle valve, whereby the nozzle is opened and closed. The pressure regulating port is opened and closed by a drive control of the pilot valve with a valve drive unit by means of elongation and contraction of the magnetostrictive rods attributable by the action of an external magnetic field. The magnetostrictive rods, consisting of first and second magnetostrictive rods (34 and 35), are axially arranged side by side in parallel to the pilot valve.
Abstract:
A fuel injection nozzle is proposed, in which an inner nozzle needle and an outer nozzle needle can be actuated independently of one another. Upon opening of the outer nozzle needle, a stream of fuel is injected into the combustion chamber in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the fuel injection nozzle, while upon opening of the inner nozzle needle, the fuel is injected laterally into the combustion chamber.
