Abstract:
A thermoplastic molding composition is composed of a linear poly(oxymethylene) and a graft copolymer the side chains of which consist essentially of oxymethylene groups. The said graft copolymer acts as a nucleating agent; its effectiveness is dependent on its amount, molecular weight and degree of grafting. Molded articles made of said composition show improved mechanical properties.
Abstract:
THERMOPLASTIC MOLDING COMPOSITIONS ON THE BASIS OF POLYOXYMETHYLENES ARE PROVIDED WHICH, BESIDES THE POLYOXYMETHYLENES, MAY CONTAIN POLYMERS OF VARYING COMPOSITION WITH A DEFINTE SIZE OF THE PARTICLES AS DISPERSED PHASE AND WHICH ARE NUCLEATED WITH SUCH AN AMOUNT OF INORGANIC NUCLEATING AGENT THAT THE SIZE OF THE POLYOXYMETHYLENE SPHERULITES FORMED UNDER DEFINITE CONDITIONS IS WITHIN A LIMITED RANGE. THE MOULDING COMPOSITIONS ARE SUITABLE FOR THE MANUFACTURE OF SHAPED ARTICLES OF ANY KIND AND HAVE IMPROVED MECHANICAL PROPERTIES.
Abstract:
Copolymers of trioxane with determined cyclic formals are used for making stiff supporting bandages. The thermoplastic-moulding compositions are applied in the plasticized state without a carrier material or together with a fabric to the part of the body to be treated and then allowed to solidify.
Abstract:
THERMOPLASTIC MOULDING COMPOSITIONS COMPRISING A LINEAR SATURATED POLYESTER AND POLYACETALS, FROM WHICH SHAPED ARTICLES CAN BE MADE HAVING A GOOD SURFACE HARDNESS AND A HIGH IMPACT STRENGTH AND BENDING STRENGTH.
Abstract:
A modified thermoplastic molding composition based on polyacetal prepared by polymerizing trioxane in the presence of a polyether by means of a catalyst; the polyether is a copolymer of at least 2 different cyclic ethers. The polymerization may also take place in the presence of additional monomers, suitable for the copolymerization with trioxane. The molding composition is suitable for the manufacture of different kinds of shaped articles, especially machine parts.
Abstract:
COPOLYMERS OF TRIOXANE ARE PREPARED BY COPOLYMERIZING TRIOXANE WITH CYCLIC ETHERS OR CYCLIC OR LINEAR ACETALS AND, IF DESIRED, A TERCOMPONENT, AND POLYETHYLENE OXIDE HAVING AN AVERAGE MOLECULAR WEIGHT IN THE RANGE OF FROM 300 TO 25,000 IN THE PRESENCE OF A CATIONICALLY ACTIVE INITIATOR.
Abstract:
THE INVENTION PROVIDES THERMOPLASTIC MOULDING COMPOSITIONS ON THE BASIS OF POLYACETALS HAVING AN IMPROVED IMPACT STRENGTH WHICH ARE OBTAINED BY MIXING A POLYOXYMETHYLENE, FOR EXAMPLE A HOMO- OR COPOLYMER OF FORMALDEHYDE OR TRIOXAN, WITH A POLYETHER, FOR EXAMPLE POLYETHYLENE OXIDE.
Abstract:
Homo- or copolymers of cyclic acetals, especially trioxane and dioxolane, are produced by catalytically initiated polymerisation of one or more monomers. As initiators anhydrous perfluoro-alkyl sulfonic acids are used, which are dissolved in inert organic solvents. The products are thermoplastic and are suitable for producing molded articles, especially injection molded articles.
Abstract:
THERMONPLASTIC MOULDING COMPOSITIONS WITH HIGH IMPACT STRENGTH ARE PREPARED BY MIXING A POLYACETAL WITH A TWOPHASE MIXTURE WHICH IS COMPOSED OF AN ELASTOMERIC AND A HARD POLYMER, THE ELASTOMERIC PHASE BEING DISPERSED IN THE HARD PHASE. THE MOULDING COMPOSITIONS OBTAINED CAN BE WORKED THERMOPLASTICALLY AND ARE SUITABLE FOR THE MANUFACTURE OF SEM-FINISHED AND FINISHED PRODUCTS, FOR EXAMPLE SHAPED ARTICLES, HOUSEHOLD ARTICLES, AND MACHINE PARTS.
Abstract:
Polyacetals, consisting of homo- or copolymers of formaldehyde or trioxane and having a good flowability as well as a resistance to alkali and solvents, are used as thermoplastic adhesives for textiles, paper and wood.
