摘要: A power unit including an internal combustion engine has an electric power generator mounted on an end of a crankshaft, a power transmitting member mounted on the other end of the crankshaft, and a lubricant oil filter. The oil filter partly overlaps the electric power generator as viewed in the direction of a crankshaft axis, and is positioned between the electric power generator and a crank weight on the crankshaft with respect to the direction of the crankshaft axis. The oil filter has a filter mount axis forming an acute angle to the crankshaft axis. The engine crankcase is thus prevented from bulging outwardly, and the power unit is reduced in size in its entirety.

In an oil strainer support structure for an internal combustion engine having an oil strainer, the oil strainer is supported by a drain bolt provided in the internal combustion engine. The oil strainer can be detached by removing the drain bolt to improve maintainability.

摘要: An engine power unit includes a crankcase, a cylinder body, and a cylinder head sequentially stacked and fastened with each other. A cam shaft holder is fastened to the cylinder head to rotatably support a cam shaft of an engine valve operating mechanism. A cylinder head cover covers the cylinder head and the cam shaft holder. Fastening bolts penetrate the cylinder head cover and the cam shaft holder to be screwed into the cylinder head. Pressing surfaces are formed on the inner surface of the cylinder head cover. The pressing surfaces are abutted against and press the cam shaft holder to the cylinder head. Thus, rigidity around the cylinder head is enhanced, and a weight reduction of the power unit is achieved.

In a running gear structure of an internal combustion engine including a supercharger and a supercharger driving mechanism transmitting power to the supercharger and driving the supercharger, the supercharger driving mechanism is provided with driving force transmission members (a third intermediate gear and a fourth intermediate gear) disposed on a side opposite to cylinders of the internal combustion engine across valve trains driving a valve gear using, as a power supply, driving force of the crankshaft rotated by explosion in the cylinders. The valve train is disposed closer to an inner side of the internal combustion engine.
