摘要: Within an upper plenum of a nuclear reactor, a portion of a heated coolant flows radially outward from a central portion of a core barrel (30) towards outlet nozzles (12) in a region of an upper core plate (21) extending outside of an outer periphery of the core along an inner wall of a core barrel (30). Portions of the coolant flows beneath the outlet nozzles (12). Thus, streams of heated coolant flowing in opposite directions may collide with each other. After collision, the flow directions of the heated coolant are changed to flow upward. Due to the collision, the coolant flow behavior becomes complicated and unstable, making it difficult to measure the temperature of the heated coolant with an outlet pipe (42) connected to the outlet nozzle (12). Within an upper plenum (40) defined above a fuel region through which a coolant flows and which is hydraulically communicated with a plurality of outlet nozzles (12) mounted on a side wall of a nuclear reactor vessel (10), short flow stabilizing members (1) each being lower than the outlet nozzle (12) are disposed in the vicinity of a core barrel (30) in an region outside of the fuel region.

摘要: An apparatus for promoting intermixing of heated fluid streams within a nuclear reactor vessel is implemented in such structural configuration and disposition as to be capable of not only promoting uniform temperature distribution of a heated fluid stream flowing into an outlet nozzle but also reducing flow resistance which the heated fluid encounters within a upper plenum of the reactor vessel. The apparatus is disposed within a upper plenum (40) defined within a nuclear reactor vessel (10) of a nuclear reactor above a core having a low temperature region (a) and a high temperature region (d) where a heated fluid flows at a low temperature and a high temperature, respectively. The upper plenum (40) is hydraulically communicated to outlet nozzles (12) installed at a side wall of the nuclear reactor vessel (10). The apparatus includes heated fluid guide members each having a predetermined short length and installed within the upper plenum (40) for guiding a heated fluid (b′) flowing out from the low temperature region of the reactor core to the vicinity of the outlet nozzle (12).

摘要: A vehicle air-conditioning system has an evaporator for receiving air discharged into a casing of the system and changing the air to a cold air flow that can flow rearward, and a heater for selectively receiving at least a portion of the cold air flow and heating such portion to a warm air flow. The system includes partition means for directing the warm air flow to permit mixing of the warm air flow and the remaining cold air flow that bypasses the heater. The partition means includes a top end portion and guide means for downwardly directing the cold, warm, or the mixed cold and warm air which has flowed beyond the top end portion for blowing-out such air out of the system. The top end portion defines a surface having a streamlined or curved configuration along which the cold, warm, or mixed cold and warm air can flow.

摘要: A connecting structure for high frequency circuits is provided, with which components can be readily replaced, and which does not require high assembly accuracy and is applicable in a broad band. First and second circuit boards each having strip lines on top surfaces thereof are placed to secure a gap therebetween. Patch portions each constituting a resonator are formed by extending the width of the strip lines, and a supporting member of a foam material is placed on the top of the patch portion formed on the first circuit board. A parasitic element made of a dielectric material is cantilevered by the supporting member. The free end side of the parasitic element is placed above the patch portion formed on the second circuit board while securing a predetermined space between the parasitic element and this patch portion. A strong electrical connection is established by the parasitic element that electromagnetically couples non-continuing portions, thereby making it possible to cut a direct current.
