Abstract: A seal assembly for an HVAC system includes a first block having a first aperture and a first sealing surface, a second block having a second aperture and a second sealing, and a conduit having a tube portion with an axially extending aperture and a flange extending radially outwardly from an end of the tube portion. The tube portion is disposed within the first aperture of the first block and the flange is disposed between the first sealing surface of the first block and the second sealing surface of the second block and is configured to deform when compressed therebetween. The seal assembly further includes an insert providing fluid communication between the aperture of the tube portion and the second aperture of the second block. A first end of the insert is received in the aperture of the tube portion of the conduit.

Abstract: A combination heat exchanger comprises a first heat exchanger assembly and a second heat exchanger assembly. The first heat exchanger assembly includes a first end tank, a second end tank, and a first heat exchanger core including a plurality of first heat exchanger tubes extending longitudinally in a first direction. The second heat exchanger assembly includes a third end tank, a fourth end tank, and a second heat exchanger core including a plurality of second heat exchanger tubes extending longitudinally in the first direction. A first coupling includes a first attachment portion rigidly coupled to the first end tank, a second attachment portion rigidly coupled to the third end tank, and a thermal expansion portion extending between the first attachment portion and the second attachment portion. The first coupling allows for relative translation between the first end tank and the third end tank in the first direction.

Abstract: A method of forming a component of a vehicle heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning system from polymeric material includes providing a molding system including at least one mold cavity defining the component. A base resin is introduced to the mold system via an inlet. A chemical foaming agent is blended with the base resin to form a composition. The composition is then further heated and blended under pressure, wherein the chemical foaming agent decomposes within the composition. The composition is introduced to the mold cavity, wherein a reduced minimized pressure of the mold cavity facilitates initiation of a nucleation of the composition, wherein the composition expands to fill the mold cavity.
