    摘要: A header plate includes slots to receive heat exchange tubes of a heat exchanger. Each slot includes a lip extending in a direction of the tubes. Each slot has straight sides and corners. At least two tabs extend from each lip. One tab is on one side of each lip, and another tab is on an opposite side of each lip. Tabs are absent from the corners of the lip. Each tab is turned out from the lip so that the tabs on the lip act as a lead in for a tube entering the slot. Each slot has two long sides opposite one another. At least one tab is on each long side of the lip.

    摘要: A marine heat exchanger has a low profile header and cooling tube configuration to minimize drag and maximize heat transfer during use. The cooling tubes extend from at least an underside of the header so that the header vertically disposed cross sectional area is minimized and the cooling tubes are exposed to flowing seawater prior to or along with the headers. The tubes can also extend forwardly of the header to further maximize heat transfer and minimize drag. The header construction is especially adapted for hulls without recesses for header containment.

    摘要: An assembly for mounting a plurality of modular heat exchangers between respective pairs of fluid openings in parallel opposed faces of an inlet header and an outlet header, including modules providing generally axial flow between the headers, each of which modules has an axially extending sleeve defining a fluid opening on one end and an end flange defining a fluid opening on the opposite end, and an end chamber having an axially flexible end wall and forming a connection between either or both of the end sleeve and the end flange and the heat exchanging portion of the module, the assembly including compressible sealing members attached to the end sleeve and the end flange and compression type mounting brackets by which the sealing members are compressed to seal the interface and provide a demountable connection between the module and the headers.

    摘要: A ceramic tube recuperator for recovering energy from hot flue gases, in which a multiplicity of heat exchange elements connected to a cold air inlet manifold and a hot air outlet chamber extend upwardly into a flow passage for hot flue gases. Each heat exchanger comprises an inner open ended tube extending into the cold air inlet manifold, and an outer ceramic tube having a closed upper end and an open lower end communicating with the hot air chamber. An essential feature of the invention is that the lower end of the ceramic tube is sealed solely as a result of resting on an annular seal, so that the ceramic tube may be removed and replaced simply by lifting and lowering through an access opening in the flue passage.
