    摘要: A sensor for determining an oxygen content in an exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine includes a receptacle, arranged in a longitudinal bore of a metal housing, for a sensing element. The sensing element is received in the receptacle in a gas-tight fashion via a sensing element seal, which includes a glass seal. The receptacle has a measured-gas-side ceramic shaped element and a connector-side ceramic shaped element, which are arranged axially one behind the other. A cavity into which the glass seal is pressed while hot is configured between the two ceramic shaped elements.

    摘要: A sensor for determining an oxygen level in an exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine includes a receptacle arranged in a longitudinal bore of a metallic enclosure for a sensor element. The sensor element is accommodated in a gas-tight manner using a sensor element seal. The receptacle has a measured gas-side ceramic molded component and a connection-side ceramic molded component, which are arranged one behind the other axially. A hollow space is formed between the measured gas-side ceramic molded component and the connection-side ceramic molded component, in which a metallic sealing element is hot-pressed.

    摘要: A measuring sensor, in particular, for determining the oxygen content in exhaust gases of internal combustion engines, includes a ceramic molding arranged in a metal housing for the accommodation of a sensor element, in particular, planar, the sensor element being sealed by a seal element made of warm-deformable temperature-resistant material. The molded housing is designed in one piece and has a cylindrically shaped longitudinal hole on the connector side, around the sensor element, and the seal element is compressed between a first compressing element on the measuring-gas side and a second compressing element on the connector side, such that it tightly encloses the sensor element and hermetically seals the sensor element with respect to the molded housing.

    摘要: Oxygen sensors having a fine-grained stabilized cubic zirconium dioxide electrolyte contact respective electrodes. The zirconium dioxide contains between 15% and 50% by volume of Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 in a crystalline state and has good mechanical and thermal properties. The oxygen sensor may have a composite zirconium dioxide solid electrolyte element. The invention also includes a wider range of related Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 - containing stabilized cubic zirconium dioxides containing between about 8% and 85% by volume Al.sub.2 O.sub.3. The invention further provides methods of manufacturing such Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 - containing zirconium dioxide and for manufacturing oxygen sensors.

    摘要: A ceramic consisting substantially of Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 as ceramic support, ceramic cover layer and/or ceramic supporting structure for heating conductors is described, which is electrochemically stable, which, in other words, does not decompose on application of a heating voltage, even in long-term operation at temperatures above 600.degree.. Such a ceramic exhibits a very small alkali metal content, of less than 0.2% by weight Na.sub.2 O and K.sub.2 O respectively. Particularly favorable processing, in particular pressing properties are exhibited by such a ceramic if it has 2.5 to 10% by weight of barium silicate or strontium silicate fluxes, the proportions of Na.sub.2 O, K.sub.2 O, CaO and MgO together make up less than 1% by weight, and the BaO or SrO:SiO.sub.2 molar ratio is between 2:1 and 1:12.5. Such a ceramic with a BaO:SiO.sub.2 ratio of 2.6:1 parts by weight is electrochemically stable up to approximately 1400.degree. C., and at 1300.degree. C. still exhibits a bending strength of approximately 300 N/mm.sup.2.

    摘要: To facilitate mass production and permit ready introduction of a substance which provides an oxygen partial pressure reference level, for example the oxygen in ambient air, an elongated plane flat plate-like solid electrolyte body is provided with electrodes thereon, and one of the electrodes is covered by a trough-like cover element to form the reference electrode, the space beneath the trough-like element and the electrode itself being available for the substance which may, but need not be, the oxygen of air, and may be a solid material providing a reference oxygen partial pressure level. The cover plate may, itself, be made of solid electrolyte material and may form a portion of another sensing element, so that a plurality of sensing elements can be superimposed in sandwich-like fashion. A heater element can be applied to a flat plate element of the assembly where desired. The sensors can operate in the potentiometric or polarographic mode.

The sealing system includes at least one sealing element, which includes a mixture of a ceramic material and a glass. The hemisphere temperature of the glass is above 750° Celsius.
