    摘要: In a liquid crystal display device having a direct-lighting backlight using LEDs as a light source, the number of LEDs is reduced without causing unevenness in brightness. An LED is disposed under a cylindrical lens to be closer to one end of the lens than a middle part of the lens. Light emitted from the LED is outputted, as diffused light, upward from an end diffusion surface of the lens. A portion of the top surface of the lens makes up a total reflection surface to reflect light emitted from the LED and thereby cause the reflected light to head for the other end of the lens. Diffusion surfaces formed on the top surface and the bottom surface of the lens radiate diffused light upward of the lens, causing uniform light to be radiated from the whole top surface of the lens.

In the backlight, light emitting diodes are provided in a frame-like flexible wiring substrate, in which plural the light emitting diodes are provided on each of four side surfaces of a light guide panel. A distance between the light emitting diodes in the central portion of each side of the light guide panel is small, while a distance in the corners of each side is large.

A display substrate comprises an optically transparent substrate disposed opposite to the back substrate; an accelerating electrode formed on the inner face of the optically transparent substrate for accelerating electron beams emitted from the electron emission elements; and luminescent materials excited by the electron beams to emit light toward the outer face of the optically transparent substrate. A frame member supports the back substrate and display substrate on their peripheries. A vacuum chamber is defined by the back substrate, display substrate, and frame member. A conductor electrically connected to the accelerating electrode is drawn out to the outside of the vacuum chamber. A high voltage connector for supplying an accelerating voltage to the conductor is removably connected to the conductor.

    摘要: Since a display device is used in a relatively large room, it often displays images on a large screen. On the other hand, a display terminal often displays images on a small screen. Therefore, when the same image is displayed on the display device and the display terminal, the displayed image on the display terminal is so small that the viewer has difficulty in discerning details of the image, which poses a problem that the display terminal is disadvantageous. In a display system including a display terminal and a display device, the display device detects position coordinates optically pointed out by a pointer on a displayed image, and displays a given pointer mark at the detected position coordinates. The display terminal displays a magnified version of the displayed image approximately around received position coordinates serving as a center thereof, and displays a given pointer mark at the position coordinates.
