    摘要: An anode for generating available chlorine from seawater by electrolysis which comprises a substrate made of titanium or an alloy thereof, and a coating on said substrate which is made up of an active anode material layer containing 15-85 wt % of platinum, 5-35 wt % of iridium dioxide, and 10-15 wt % of ruthenium dioxide. The anode has greatly improved anode performance such as current efficiency, cell voltage, and durability. Therefor, its use for a long period of time becomes possible in any condition of seawater.

    摘要: An anode coated with .beta.-lead dioxide which comprises a titanium substrate, titanium expanded metal welded on at least one side of the titanium substrate, titanium reinforcing bars welded on the peripheries of said expanded metal to both said expanded metal and said substrate, at least one intermediate layer being applied on said substrate and said expanded metal, said intermediate layer consisting either of an alloy or an oxide of platinum group metals; and a .beta.-lead dioxide coating layer on said intermediate layer.The anode of this invention has particularly good dimensional stability and provides excellent adhesion of the .beta.-lead dioxide coating layer to the substrate, and hence is highly suitable for the electrolytic production of chlorates, perchlorates, and periodates, and furthermore it is also useful as an insoluble anode in electroplating and in electrolytic treatment of waste water.

    摘要: An improved electrolytic cell of simple construction capable of satisfactorily producing periodates comprises a plurality of cathodes mounted vertically in parallel to the long sides of a cell body and spaced at equal intervals from each other, a plurality of open anodic compartment boxes with plate separators adapted to maintain the equal intervals, one or more anodes inserted in the compartment boxes, a plurality of PVC diaphragms mounted on both sides of the anodic compartment boxes in parallel to the cathodes, an anolyte inlet mounted in the lower part of the anodic compartment boxes and an anolyte outlet mounted in the upper part of the opposite side of the anodic compartment boxes, a cell cover provided with air intake holes and cell gas exhaust pipes, and perforated PVC lids for the cathodic compartments positioned between the cell cover and the upper level of the catholyte.
