摘要: In a lithium battery having a negative electrode formed with lithium as active material and the positive electrode formed with manganese dioxide, carbon fluoride or the like as the active material, the discharge capacity of the negative electrode is made smaller than the discharge capacity of the positive electrode, whereby a drop in the battery voltage during the final discharge stage is steepened, and prevents a device using such a lithium battery as a power supply from operating in an unstable manner, thereby improving the reliability of such device.

摘要: The present application discloses a layer-built cell comprising: a cell assembly formed by putting together a plurality of elemental cells each having thereon a positive terminal and a negative terminal, such that the positive terminals and the negative terminals of the respective elemental cells are located on the same plane; a first insulating plate disposed on the cell assembly and having therein a plurality of through-bores; connecting pieces located on the first insulating plate and passing through the through-bores to connect the elemental cells to one another in series; a second insulating plate disposed on the connecting pieces and having two through-bores; positive and negative lead pieces passing through and projected from the through-bores in the first and second insulating plates; and a terminal plate disposed on the second insulating plate and having thereon a positive external terminal connected to the positive lead piece and a negative external terminal connected to the negative lead piece. Thus, according to the layer-built cell of the present invention, it is possible to prevent undesired electrical connects between the plurality of connecting pieces and the positive and negative lead pieces. Furthermore, according to the present invention, since all elemental cells can be used in the same positional direction, the assembling work may be very simplified.

摘要: The present application discloses a battery comprising a collector rod serving also as a winding core and having at one end thereof a non-circle shape flange, positioning means formed at the flange, a spiral electrode formed by band-shape positive and negative electrode plates with a separator layer therebetween wound upon the collector rod with one of the electrode plates electrically connected to the collector rod, a battery vessel for housing the spiral electrode and to which the other of the electrode plates being electrically connected, a lid for hermetically closing the opening of the battery vessel through insulating packing and for simultaneously forming a terminal of said one electrode plate, and conductive resilient means having one end positioned by the positioning means and the other end in contact with the lid so that the conductive resilient means is pressed by the flange and the lid to electrically connect the collector rod and the lid to each other. The provision of the non-circle shape flange at one end of the collector rod serving also as a winding core, facilitates the winding operation of positive and negative electrode plates upon the collector rod, whereby the working efficiency may be improved. The positioning means at the flange eliminates the necessity of welding the conductive resilient means to the collector rod and permits the conductive resilient means to be positioned at a predetermined position all the times, whereby electrical connection means may be improved.

摘要: The present application discloses a safety valve means for battery comprising a lid plate having therein a valve hole, a thin plate overlapped on the lid plate for closing the valve hole, a terminal plate in the reverse dish shape overlapped on the thin plate and having a gas removing hole and a downwardly projected cutter means and forming a valve chamber together with the thin plate, a holding means for holding the periphery of the thin plate between the lid plate and the terminal plate by caulking the turning edge of the lid plate or the terminal plate and an annular resilient member disposed between the thin plate and the terminal plate and pressed by the terminal plate to press the thin plate.According to safety valve means for battery of the present invention, when the periphery of the thin plate is held by and between the lid plate and the terminal plate, holding pressure is adapted to be adsorbed by the annular resilient member, thereby to restrain the occurrence of bent of the thin plate which is otherwise resulted from the holding pressure above-mentioned. Therefore, the thin plate may be located at a predetermined position, whereby a highly reliable safety valve having high precision may be obtained.Furthermore, it is possible to maintain strong sticking of the lid plate to the thin plate. Moreover, in the valve chamber the annular resilient member is disposed between the thin plate and terminal plate in a compressed manner, thereby to prevent the electrolyte from leaking along the abutment surfaces of the annular resilient member and the terminal plate.

摘要: The present invention discloses a battery in which a plurality of positive and negative electrodes are alternately superposed, with each of separator layers therebetween, in the form of flat package. Through-bores are centrally defined in the electrode having one polarity interposed between a pair of electrodes having the other polarity, and both separator layers sandwiching said electrode having said one polarity. Passed through these central bores is an electrical contact member, of which at least the portion in contact with said electrode having said one polarity, is coated with insulating material. Said pair of electrodes having said other polarity are therefore electrically connected to each other by said electrical contact member. Thus, electric contact between the electrodes having a same polarity may simply be provided, internal short-circuit in the battery may be prevented and the assembling of the battery may be facilitated.

摘要: An electrolytic corrosion measuring apparatus comprising a first terminal to be connected to an electric conductor, such as a rail of electric railways, water pipe, gas pipe, telephone cable, power cable or the like, installed in electrical contact with the earth and a second terminal to be connected to an earthed reference electrode; a solid state electrochemical potential memory device which exhibits a terminal voltage between an anode and a cathode linearly changing as a function of the charging or discharging quantity of electricity fed to the device and which is capable of holding the terminal voltage, said device being connected to the terminals to receive an input therefrom; an amplifier for amplifying the terminal voltage of the device; and a meter for displaying the output of the amplifier. A preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises two sets of such memory device, amplifier and meter: one being for a positive going component of the input and the other for a negative component. The value indicated by the meter is associated with an amount of electrolytic corrosion occurring in the conductor during a time period when the apparatus is connected to the conductor and the earth, and thus affords a qualitative measurement indication of the amount of electrolytic corrosion so occurring.
