Abstract: An apparatus for non-contact processing on a ribbon-like article includes a conveying device of the ribbon-like article including an inlet section, an outlet section and a connecting segment extending between the inlet section and the outlet section and at least two operating units configured to perform non-contacting processing on the ribbon-like article that are movable along a loop path. The conveying device is configured to advance the ribbon-like article at a feed rate along the connecting segment. The operating units are configured to displace at a first speed along a processing portion of the loop path. The speed difference between the first speed and the feed rate is lower than a predetermined value.

Abstract: An anode for a lithium secondary battery, including: a cladding material obtained by bonding an anode active material layer and a current collector layer to each other, in which the anode active material layer contains aluminum, the current collector layer is made of a metal foil, and the anode active material layer satisfies (1) and (2) in which (1): an average voltage of a lithium alloying reaction in the anode active material layer measured using lithium metal as a counter electrode of the anode active material layer is 0.05 V or more, and (2): the average voltage of the lithium alloying reaction in the anode active material layer measured using lithium metal as the counter electrode of the anode active material layer is higher than an average voltage of a lithium alloying reaction in the current collector layer, and a difference in the average voltage of the lithium alloying reaction between the anode active material layer and the current collector layer is 0.05 V or more and 0.5 V or less.

Abstract: An energy storage element includes a cathode including a cathode current collector with a main region and a free edge strip and an anode including an anode current collector with a main region and a free edge strip. The energy storage element also includes first and second contact sheet metal members in direct contact with the free edge strips. The cathode and the anode are separated by a separator or a solid electrolyte layer and are arranged relative to one another such that one free edge strip protrudes from one side of an assembly including the cathode and the anode and the other free edge strip protrudes from the other side. At least one free edge strips has, as a result of a folding and/or a rolling-up process, a thickness that corresponds at least to the thickness of the associated cathode or anode in an adjacent main region.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a silicon anode, a method for manufacturing the same, and a battery including the same. Particularly, the silicon anode improves the interfacial contact between the silicon anode and a sulfide-based solid electrolyte layer, and thus the interfacial contact can be maintained uniformly during lithiation even under low pressure, and high delithiation capacity and coulombic efficiency can be realized.
In addition, the battery allows the lithium-alloying metal layer stacked on the anode active material layer to be applied to the silicon anode, and thus the lithium-alloying metal layer stacked on the silicon anode forms alloy with lithium in real time through the conduction of lithium ions from the solid electrolyte during lithiation/delithiation, and the silicon anode becomes soft and adhesive and shows improved interfacial contact between the lithium-alloying metal layer and the solid electrolyte layer, resulting in improvement of the life characteristics and capacity retention of the battery.-

Abstract: An alkaline electrochemical cell has a central cathode having a corresponding cathode current collector electrically connected with a positive terminal of the electrochemical cell. The cathode current collector has a tubular shape, such as a cylindrical shape or rectangular shape, extending parallel with the length of the central cathode. The cathode current collector is embedded within the central cathode, such as at a medial point of a radius of the central cathode, thereby minimizing the distance between the cathode current collector and any portion of the central cathode, thereby increasing the mechanical strength of the cathode and facilitating charge transfer to the cathode current collector.

Abstract: A lithium-ion cell includes a housing comprising a metallic tubular housing part made of aluminum or an aluminum alloy with a terminal circular opening. The cell further includes a contact element that closes the terminal circular opening of the tubular housing part, the contact element comprising a metal disk, a contact sheet metal member, a metal pole pin and an insulator. In addition, the cell includes an electrode-separator assembly having an anode, a cathode, and a separator with the sequence anode/separator/cathode. The electrode-separator assembly is in the form of a cylindrical winding with two terminal end faces and a winding shell located therebetween. The electrode-separator assembly is disposed in the winding and is axially aligned so that the winding shell abuts an inside of the tubular housing part.
