摘要: A photoelectric pulsation type pulsimeter irradiates the ray of light to a capillary blood vessel of a finger tip or the like and detects the level of the reflected ray of light changing with the pulsation as the pulsation. The present invention improves stability of the pulse rate display by disposing pulse width evaluation means between a pulsation detection circuit for detecting the pulsation and pulsation calculation means for measuring the period of the pulsation signal and calculating the pulse rate per minute. The pulse width evaluation means evaluate the pulse signal outputted from the pulsation detection circuit and the pulse rate calculated by the pulsation calculation means.

摘要: In a temperature gradient adjustor for a temperature-compensated electronic watch, the temperature gradient adjusting range can be widened without any drop in the temperature gradient adjusting resolution of a temperature sensitive oscillator by adding a roughly temperature gradient adjusting variable frequency divider for variably dividing the frequency of the output of a temperature sensitive oscillator and by operating the temperature gradient adjustor at a value which is prepared by adding a constant numerical value to temperature gradient adjusting numerical information.A constant voltage supplying to a temperature sensitive oscillator can be finely adjusted from external side so as to optimize a linearity of frequency versus temperature characteristic.

摘要: A pulse wave monitor having a structure capable of automatically performing optimal positioning of a pulse wave probe with respect to a user's body. A plurality of transmitting piezoelectric vibrators for transmitting an ultrasonic wave to an artery are provided along with a plurality of receiving piezoelectric vibrators for receiving an ultrasonic wave from the artery. An optimal combination of a transmitting piezoelectric vibrator and a receiving piezoelectric vibrator for use in pulse wave measurement is determined based on the intensity of a received ultrasonic wave signal. Ultrasonic wave transmission and reception are made by the optimal combination so that accurate pulse wave detection measurement is made possible by automatic positioning of the pulse wave probe.

摘要: There is disclosed a portable GPS (Global Positioning System) receiver carried by a user. The receiver measures the distance traveled by the user and the speed. In the prior art technique, if satellites cannot be captured, no measurements are made. To find the distance and speed accurately, the measurements have to be performed continuously, thus increasing the electric power consumed by the receiver. The inventive receiver once finds the speed from the Doppler frequencies of the carrier waves. Then, a first distance-calculating means finds the distance from the speed. A walk-detecting means detects walking. A step number-calculating means accumulates the number of steps taken in steps. A stride-calculating means finds the stride from the accumulated step number and from the found distance. Then, a second distance-calculating means finds the distance from the stride and from the accumulated number of steps. A speed-calculating means finds the speed. The GPS receiver receives at regular intervals and updates the stride.

摘要: A timepiece has a stepping motor for intermittently rotating hands to indicate the time, a solar cell for temporarily generating electric charge and capacitors for storing the generated electric charge to supply an operating voltage. A drive circuit repeatedly applies a combination of first and second consecutive driving pulses having electric powers proportional to the operating voltage to the stepping motor, while a detector detects the operating voltage. A control circuit is connected between the drive circuit and the detector for controlling the detector to effect the operating voltage detection after the application of the first driving pulse and before the application of the following second driving pulse. When decrease of the operating voltage is detected after the application of the first driving pulse, the operating voltage is increased before the application of the following second driving pulse so as to ensure the rotation of the hands.

摘要: There is provided a pulse detecting device which resists fluctuations in the quality by locating an ultrasound transmitting piezoelectric element and an ultrasound receiving piezoelectric element with high precision. In the pulse detecting device, a detection sensitivity of the pulse is improved. A transmitting piezoelectric element and a receiving piezoelectric element are fixed onto a substrate by electrodes. The transmitting piezoelectric element is excited in response to an inputted drive voltage signal to generate an ultrasound and transmits the generated ultrasound to a living body. The receiving piezoelectric element receives an echo produced by reflecting the ultrasound transmitted into the living body by a blood flow of the living body and converts it into a voltage signal. A processing arithmetic unit compares the frequency of the ultrasound generated by the transmitting piezoelectric element with that of the echo received in the receiving piezoelectric element to thereby detect a pulse.
