摘要: An information processing apparatus obtains a distance that an input pen is moved in terms of the number of dots covered on a display screen, and from that number, judges whether a pen stroke is a gesture entry or a pointing entry. When the input pen is moved over more than a predetermined number of dots, e.g., eight dots, gesture recognition processing is performed. If the input pen is moved less than that number of dots, a pointing instruction is recognized, and pointing processing is performed. If a gesture is recognized, a recognized gesture editing command and a feature point of the gesture command are stored in RAM. Since an input by the input pen is judged a gesture entry or a pointing entry according to the number of dots over which the input pen is moved, a switch is not required to change data/instruction entry modes which reduces cost and improves handling.

摘要: A contrast echo image of the myocardium and a cardiac chamber obtained by use of ultrasound diagnostic equipment is analyzed so as to determine the volume of blood within the myocardium. The contrast echo image is divided into a plurality of calculation regions, each being considered to have a uniform acoustic field intensity and covering a portion of a myocardium image region and a corresponding portion of a cardiac chamber image region. For each calculation region, a difference in intensity between the myocardium image region and the cardiac chamber image region is obtained, and the myocardium image region is colored in accordance with the difference.

摘要: A routing method for wiring design including a determining step for identifying, in one of the wiring sections where no wiring path is determined as yet, the direction of the line segment which is prohibited by an obstacle and accordingly determining a wiring path. The routing method also includes a generating step for generating, on a layer opposite to the layer on which one unprocessed line segment is present and in a position having the same plane coordinates as the line segment, an obstacle which prohibits only such line segments as are parallel in direction to the line segment, on the wiring path determined by the determining step.

摘要: A parallel connection of an enhancement type nMOS transistor and an enhancement type pMOS transistor is connected between an input terminal receiving a clock signal and a capacitor. The pMOS transistor is turned on and off in dependece on an output of a power supply voltage detector, so that a signal transmission path between the input terminal and the capacitor, as the clock signal is at a high level, has a switched position at a side of the nMOS transistor when the power supply voltage is high, and a switched postiion at a side of the pMOS transistor when the power supply voltage is low. Due to a threshold drop effect of the nMOS transistor, a signal amplitude of a high level is limited to an output level of a limiter minus a threshold voltage of the nMOS transistor, reducing a charge-discharge current of the capacitor.

摘要: A switching power converter capable of operation in either Nonconversion, Stepdown, or Stepup Mode. Included is a parallel circuit of three serial connections of a first, a second and a third pair of switches. The junction between the first pair of switches is connected to an a.c. input terminal via an inductor, the junction between the second switch pair grounded, and the junction between the third switch pair connected to an a.c. output terminal via another inductor. The first and third switch pairs are driven at the frequency (e.g. 50 Hz) of an a.c. input voltage, and the second switch pair at a higher frequency (e.g. 20 kHz), in Nonconversion Mode; the first switch pair at the low frequency, and the second and third switch pairs at the high frequency, in Stepdown Mode; and the first and second switch pairs at the high frequency, and the third switch pair at low frequency, in Stepup Mode. The second switch pair is invariably driven at the high frequency.

摘要: A plurality of terminals are connected to a server via a communication network and share a predetermined common virtual space. The terminals each send to the server the position coordinates of the viewing point and direction of eyes of its user in the virtual space, and the visual field image viewed from that viewing point is displayed on a display. Based on the position coordinates and direction of eyes of the avatar each of the other terminals received from each of the other terminals via the server, each terminal generates an avatar image in the specified direction and at the specified position and displays it in the visual field. The server is always supplied with the latest position information of the avatar from every terminal and, when the distance between two arbitrary avatars becomes smaller than a threshold value, connects speech channels of the two terminals corresponding to these avatars.

摘要: A shift control method for an automatic transmission of an automotive vehicle comprises a preliminary stage which is executed for eliminating the play in mechanism of a low/reverse brake of the automatic transmission at a shifting, particularly at a shifting of the transmission from the neutral position to a running position when the vehicle is at rest, and an engagement stage which is executed subsequently to the preliminary stage for operating the brake substantially. In the preliminary and engagement stages, the fluid pressure supplied to the brake is controlled in accordance with the precontrol pattern and the main control pattern, respectively. The shift control method further comprises a step of correcting a factor defining the precontrol pattern such that the time required from the start of the engagement stage to the start of a substantial shifting of the automatic transmission coincides with an ideal reference time, and a step of correcting the initial value of the fluid pressure supplied to the engaging element at the start of the main control pattern such that the rate of change in the rotational speed of the input shaft of the transmission during the period from the start of the substantial shifting to the end of same coincides with an ideal reference rate.
