摘要: A method and apparatus for the direct heat treatment of medium- to high-carbon steel rods which provides an increased tensile strength and drawability by subjecting hot-rolled steel rods to controlled cooling with a coolant. Expanded spiral coils of hot-rolled medium- to high-carbon steel rod having an austenitic structure and which is continuously transported in a generally horizontal direction is cooled by passing the spiral coils through a vessel containing a coolant of a gas bubble-water mixed fluid under a strong turbulent action. The coolant fluid contains a uniform dispersion of oxidizing gas bubbles and is maintained at a temperature of not higher than 95.degree. C. Preferably, the coolant is caused to flow in the same direction as the direction of movement of the coil in the vessel. The surface of the rod may be oxidized by allowing it to cool in air before it is immersed in the coolant fluid.

摘要: The present invention enables connection between a wireless sensor node and a service server while reducing load on the wireless sensor node. The wireless sensor node transmits a router solicitation message to a gateway apparatus; the gateway apparatus analyzes the message to extract the discrete information of a device or service, searches for a service server based on such information and acquires the configuration information necessary for execution of a service application of the wireless sensor node; the gateway apparatus multicasts the received router solicitation message into a link; a router within the link receives the router solicitation message, and multicast a router advertisement message which contains the prefix information of an address, etc. into a link; the gateway apparatus sets the acquired configuration information in the router advertisement message and transfers the resultant message to the wireless sensor node; and the wireless sensor node analyzes the message.

摘要: In a continuous casting process for steel, a molten core inside a strand is stalled at a specific point Q in a pass line of the strand to form a cored portion including no molten steel in the strand downstream of the specific point Q, and the cored portion is rolled by a pair of rolls under pressing into a solid strand in the latter half of a strand drawing stroke. The resulting solid strand comprises a skin formed of a chill crystal and the interior formed of a columnar crystal by addition of proper casting temperature. A through continuous casting/rolling process in which the above improved continuous casting process is combined with a subsequent hot rolling process is also disclosed. A drastic increase in the casting efficiency, an improvement in quality, and an equipment capable of freely adjusting a casting thickness can be resulted so that direct coupling between continuous casting and rolling is achieved and near-net-shaping of various steel materials is promoted.

摘要: A method and apparatus for the direct heat treatment of a medium- to high-carbon steel rod in which the formation of martensite is prevented, even if the starting billet contains segregation. A hot-rolled rod is transported on a conveyor in the form of a sequence of non-concentric rings. The rod is then subjected to controlled cooling in a coolant so that the greater part of any austenite in the entire length of the rod is substantially uniformly transformed to a fine pearlite structure. The sequence of non-concentric rings of the rod is next held at a temperature of 450.degree.-630.degree. C. for a period of 60-300 seconds, with the pitch between each ring being made smaller than at the inlet of the conveyor. Accordingly, a pearlite transformation is effected of any residual austenite.
