A method for frame interpolation based on motion estimation converts a frame rate of an image frame source according to an appliance that displays the image frame. An apparatus for frame interpolation based on motion estimation includes a motion vector estimation unit estimating a final motion vector of a block in a specified frame, a motion vector post-processing unit smoothing the estimated final motion vector, and a motion error concealment unit concealing an error due to discontinuity among blocks having the smoothed final motion vector.

A method is provided for reducing occurrence of color fringe errors occurred at the time of carrying out a color filter interpolation and reducing degradation of an image quality. Interpolation of a G channel value in a pixel of the color filter having only R or B channel values is carried out such that a similarity measured between channels based on interpolation results in horizontal and vertical directions are measured, and the G channel interpolation is carried out in a direction where the measured similarity becomes the maximized. However, when the reliability of the measured similarity becomes poor, a final G channel interpolation is carried out using a weighted average value using similarity information of each direction and interpolation results of the horizontal and vertical directions.

Provided is a camera module having a wide dynamic range (WDR) function and a reduced size. The camera module includes a lens unit including a plurality of lenses collecting incident light; a filter unit having a plurality of filtering regions corresponding to respective regions of the lenses; and an image sensor unit having a plurality of sensing regions, each converting light that passes through each of the filtering regions into an electrical signal. The filtering regions are divided into a first filtering region in which different color filters are formed and a second filtering region in which a color filter having a higher transmittance than the transmittances of the color filters formed in the first filtering region is formed.

A method, medium, and apparatus compensating for differences in the persistence of phosphors in a display panel. The method of compensating for differences in persistence of phosphors in a display panel, having two or more light-emitting elements with different response characteristics, may include compensating for the response time of a first light-emitting element that represents the longest response time, selecting data response time for a second light-emitting element, which is different from the longest response time, and compensating for the differences in the persistence of phosphors due to a difference between the response times of the first light-emitting element and the second light-emitting element by compensating for the selected video data based on the compensated video data for the first light-emitting element.

The resolution-converting method comprises steps of applying an edge-directed interpolation to an input image and producing an intermediate image; converting a sampling rate with respect to the intermediate image and producing an output image having a predetermined resolution; and improving sharpness of the produced output image. The present invention prevents image-quality degradation factors that can occur in the conventional resolution-converting method as well as obtains an output image having a resolution of a desired size.
