The active diffuser assembly includes a fixed panel disposed on the vehicle underbody; a movable active panel disposed adjacent the fixed panel and configured for selective movement to be deployed away from the vehicle body and to be retracted toward the vehicle body for stowage; and an actuator configured to deploy and retract the movable active panel, the fixed panel and the movable active panel defining a continuous plane when the movable panel is in the stowed position.

Abstract: A wheel casing for a vehicle having a wheel assembly including a wheel and a tire. The wheel casing includes a body portion positionable adjacent an inboard surface of the tire, and a brake cooling duct defining an air inlet opening and an air outlet opening. The air outlet opening is in fluid communication with a brake system component and the air inlet opening is positionable inboard of the body portion when the body portion is positioned adjacent the inboard surface of the tire, thereby providing cooling air flow through the brake cooling duct to the brake system component when the vehicle is in forward motion. The wheel casing further includes a suspension arm undercover extending inboard of the body portion and configured to protect predetermined components of the vehicle.

Abstract: An active spoiler system for a vehicle is disclosed that changes from a stowed position to a deployed position. In the stowed position, one or more flexible sheets are stored on rollers inside the body of the vehicle. The flexible sheets are pulled outward out of the body of the vehicle by a rigid bar that rotates around a pivot, in response to a controller. The deployed active spoiler may decrease drag thereby increasing fuel efficiency, while also allowing for the active spoiler to be stowed when not needed due to road or weather conditions.

Abstract: Embodiments of an upper body heat exchanger for a vehicle. In one embodiment, an upper body heat exchanger includes a first portion having a plurality of fins disposed on a first surface. The upper body heat exchanger also includes a second portion having a plurality of heat transfer fluid passages disposed on a second surface of the upper body heat exchanger. The second portion is beneath the first portion. The upper body heat exchanger is mounted on the vehicle such that the first surface of the first portion of the upper body heat exchanger is exposed. The plurality of heat transfer fluid passages are configured to transfer heat from heated fluid flowing through the plurality of heat transfer fluid passages to airflows interacting with the plurality of fins as the vehicle is moving.
