    Abstract: Each of a plurality of assets within a building are configured to access a cellular network in order to ascertain its specific location, to perform self-diagnostics on itself, and to transmit an assistance request when the self-diagnostics indicates a potential problem. The assistance request may include the specific location of the asset and an indication of the potential problem. A server is operably couplable to the cellular network and is configured to receive the assistance requests from the assets, formulate a service request for responding to at least some of the received assistance requests, assign each of the service requests to a corresponding one of one or more automated asset maintenance assistants, and transmit each of the service requests to the assigned automated asset maintenance assistant instructing the assigned automated asset maintenance assistant to respond to the corresponding assistance request.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for alerting trailing aircraft about conditions experienced by a leading aircraft are disclosed herein. The systems and methods include an aircraft lighting system, which includes at least one external aircraft light and a memory module configured to store at least one criterion associated with an aircraft parameter. The systems and methods further include a receiver module operably connected to the memory module which is configured to receive an aircraft parameter. The systems and methods also include a processor module operably connected to the memory module, the receiver module and the at least one external aircraft light, the processor being configured to compare the received aircraft parameter to the stored at least one criterion and is further configured to determine, on the basis of the comparison, whether to cause illumination of the at least one external aircraft light for observance by trailing aircraft.

    Abstract: An obstruction detection and warning system includes a plurality of edge light emitters, and a processing system. The edge light emitters are mounted on a structure that has a width and a height. Each edge light emitter is operable to emit a light beam at an angular rate, and that is encoded with data that indicates its position and its height. The processing system receives the light beam emitted from each edge light emitter and decodes the encoded data from the received light beam to determine the width and height of the structure, and to determine a distance from an aircraft to the structure. The processor also compares an active trajectory and current altitude of the aircraft to the width and height of the structure and the distance to the structure and, based on the comparison, generates and supplies situational cues to an operator of the aircraft.

    Abstract: Technologically improved Flight Deck Interval Management Paired Approach (FIMPA) system and methods are provided that provide safe speed guidance to a trail aircraft. The FIMPA system comprises a processor operatively coupled to a memory and a database of aircraft-specific parameters. The processor is configured to: receive instantaneous target traffic state data; receive instantaneous state data of a trail aircraft; process the state data, target traffic state data, and aircraft-specific parameters to determine a safe speed zone to perform paired approach, and a recommended speed; render, on a cockpit display, a paired approach bar (PAB) with indicators for (i) a current location of the target traffic, (ii) a current trail aircraft speed, and (iii) the recommended speed; and wherein the indicators are separate and visually distinguishable from each other; determine a wake risk area; and render the wake risk area in a visually distinguishable manner on the PAB.
